Ekseption (Hit me like a freight train the first time I heard them, but in a good way. Not one bad song on the 'Trinity' album)
Genesis, of course. (Had 'The Colony of Slippermen' stuck in my head for nearly a month when I first heard it) Yes Jethro Tull (Consistently good) Gentle Giant (Like Tull, have been consistently strong, in my opinion anyway) Grateful Dead (Their non-Country material) ELP (I see a lot of people hate on them, and for what reason I really don't understand. Annoyingly theatrical or not, they were brilliant at their craft) King Crimson, of course. And others that come really, really close... Camel Anglagard PFM Kayak Finch BDMS Return to Forever Van der Graaf Generator

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.
