KC is for me
ITCOTCK - 5 star and one of the best albums ever made
then stuff
Red - 5 stars and one of the best albums ever made
then a lot more stuff
The Power To Believe - 5 stars and one of the best albums ever made
END (well until the next album)
I voted Genesis

I can see that....I did not express my feeling well. Sure I want a band to always experiment...I suppose best to leave it as too difficult to write how I feel about KC, who I do like BTW.

I have to say I find it funny how being "experimental" is considered to
be a bad thing by fans of a genre called PROGRESSIVE rock. This somewhat lends credibility to my theory that what a lot of prog fans actually want is a bunch of glorified pop songs rather than anything genuinely forward-thinking.
|
Hmm.....I will leave this one alone, I would never jump to any conclusion of any long time PA member thinking they only want glorified pop songs. Again, my feeling did not read right, so I will leave it at that.

Exactly the opposite for me.
I love everything about Genesis (at least up to and including Wind & Wuthering). Whilst I respect KC for their skill and innovation, their music is largely unenjoyable for me. I always feel they did things because they were difficult and novel, not because they sounded good.

Crimso for me. Both took directions in the 80's that I didn't like but Crimso never embarrassed themselves like Genesis and always tried to stretch the bounds of prog

I've always been more a fan of the eclectic genre, and KC is no exception.
But I can say that Genesis is extremely good as well; I like both eras equally. Maybe Gabriel a hair more but alas, they are both fantastic.

Very tough... Because of the Trespass to TLLDOB years, I vote Genesis. In any case, Pink Floyd gets the praise.

Even though I have a ton of respect for Peter Gabriel, King Crimson always wins in my book. Even over PF or Yes.
