My Sonic Youth collection consists of two songs. Compilation Blues off of DGC Rarities Vol 1.compilation; and, Chez Yves (Alice et Clara) off of Simon Werner a disparu (Bande originale du film).
| Oddly enough, although I have over 20 Sonic Youth albums, I do not have either of those songs.

The odds of that happening have to be pretty slim.

I don't even think I knew they existed. Slim indeed. Speaking of, continuing the marathon, SONIC YOUTH - "Bad Moon Rising" (1985) This was my intro to the band, where it all started. It's a rough listen, but something about it made me revisit it enough times to develop a great deal of affection for it.

Hey David, I checked out a live video performance of Goat on Youtube last night. Pretty awesome. I think it was a good introduction to get the visual experience first before checking out the LP.

Well snap. I hadn't thought about checking out their live stuff. Must rectify when the shippers return. I'd imagine it would be the right introduction to the band - especially from reading about them. Being from the most Northern part of Sweden, doing a 'Residents' masquerade thang plus splicing it up with tribalism and a bucket of acid should be in full force up on stage methinks. Btw: Michael (Neu!mann) just wrote some excellent reviews of the debut and subsequent live album.
I'm obviously guessing here, but I strongly suspect their upcoming album to be the knees of the bee. Call it a gut feeling. | Heck, you could even try this if you're so inclined:
Lucky dog.
