Sorry, but that's a bit nutty.

Sincere question: How do you come to that conclusion?
He has strong pull from the white working class votes, independents, youth. He has the ability to craft a pretty wide base, I think actually could grow the Democratic Party.
I also think given Bernie grabs a lot of people that have abandoned the Dems/dont always vote/dont always go dem he is a stronger candidate than Clinton...who really can only win against Trump.

Don't tell me it's the socialist thing. Honestly, only Republicans/conservatives and libertarians really care anymore.
The overuse of socialist has backfired. Now that we FINALLY have a liberal who doesn't run away when people use the S word, and even says "yeah ok I am so now back to what I was saying" I think 1: people have become numb to the word 2: some are saying "Oh THIS is socialism? Well sh*t, I kinda like this guy"

He of course hasn't advocated anything socialist, but the Dems never have despite the loud cries from the rightLOL

I'll tell you a joke that you really won't find funny. It's a joke about someone who refuses to vote when the Supreme Court is being held hostage. A previously conservative Supreme Court who ruled on Citizen's United and basically gave away elections to corporate entities and eliminated one person one vote and replaced it with one PAC to rule them all, one PAC to find them, one PAC to bring them all and in the darkness bind them. What next, the elimination of Roe v. Wade? Making contraceptives illegal? Will women have to leave their vaginas in a jar by the door when they leave the house?

If the Republican majority continues to kidnap the constitution, what fresh hell will Trump unleash if he is elected and allowed to select a justice (and I use the word loosely)? Huge swathes of voters are already being gerrymandered out of relevance, and some states are intent on making voting laws so difficult it will be hard to tell the difference between them and the old Jim Crow states. I've already seen some polling spots where voters have to wait in long lines for several hours to vote - and somehow struggle to do so on a work day.

There's a punch line in there somewhere, but it's funny only in an odd, wholly ironic manner.

Yes, yes and again yes.  And this time I don't mean the band.

If not voting enables a Trump presidency, then it is an immoral act.  Again, no one on this site can tell you to vote, but they can point out the consequences of your not voting.  A Trump-nominated Supreme Court justice?  Well, maybe that won't impact you if a you are a white male, but it will sure as hell make life worse for the rest of us.

Us "minorities" can't afford to be cavalier about this election, and your repeated visits to this thread to convince us you have a right not to vote seems to demonstrate that you want us to applaud your choice to not do so.  That's not going to happen, mate.

While I think it's important to stack the SCOTUS in favor of progressive liberal policies, I think that this is assigning a little too much importance to the Clinton/Trump vote. The best hope I have for Clinton is that things won't get markedly worse, at least for people in the US. I have no hope for the rights of non-US people under either of them.

You don't like it because I like Camel, you do not like it I might not vote. So easy to dislike people electronically. Tim does not like the abuse, that's why Tim tries not to abuse others. Funny you should mention abuse.

dislike?  We generally ignore people we dislike.  We play around with people we like. LOL We do try to give people around here the benefit of the doubt to have some notion of a sense of humor and we able to have some fun

abuse is a funny notion.. some might say you are looking for it.  You did barge right in the other day after my posts when neither you.. nor your oft spoken desire to sit this one out were not even mentioned.  Wink

I don't dislike you. I just think you are behaving badly and looking for approval for doing so.

I don't remember saying you dislike me. I do not need the approval. I am not trying to get anyone not to vote.

from your post: " So easy to dislike people electronically."
If you are not looking for approval, then why on earth do you keep coming back here declaring your intention not to vote?  we have all commented on it repeatedly, and you now know how we feel.  Why keep telling us that you are making a good choice when it's clear that we don't agree?

yeah.. it has been said before.. and likely will be said a 100 times before this thread hits November.

One is free to choose not to vote..

however part of freedom is knowing that with actions.. come consequences...and others are free to call into the question the sanity of not voting when faced with the specter of electing a misogynist, borderline psychotic, minorty hating man who has does not have enough qualifications to be elected city dog catcher.. much less President of the United States.

We didn't seek this out Tim.. you just keep putting your head in the chipper...  you really can't expect us NOT to pop the top on a beer and enjoy it..

I do not think my head is in a chipper. Behaving badly? Report me to an admin. If I want to contribute my political views I think I am allowed to do so. The difference between us is you want to demonize one side and I want to demonize both. Perhaps if there is a viable 3rd candidate I might vote.

of course you are allowed to. I'm glad you do and wish more did to be honest.  Your line thinking is Chinese to me.. but still interesting to know how others think.. and who to blame later if and when Trump moves on to alienating half the population here to half our allies...

getting us in god knows how many wars perhaps finally completely losing what few marbles he has left...being completely unprepared and in over his head for this kind of responsibility and the challenges of being President... and decides to drop a nuke on someone...

sounds crazy. .farfetched.. it should be.. but is not. .and that is the TRULY scary thing

so yeah... tell me Hillary is as bad.... whatever... it is bullsh*t Tim.

Here is what I will tell you, the only hope is Bernie Sanders. He can beat Trump. Trump will eat Hillary Clinton alive if she runs.

wrong and wrong...

why do you think Bernie has such high poll numbers.. no one has paid him any attention.  Guess what happens if the right set it's attention on him... he'd be swift boated into nothingness... the GOP attack machine would have the American public thinking a vote for him will have all their money... their property.. everything taken away..

and if you don't see that Tim.. you haven't paid attention to politics.. dirty politics.. nor the general ignorance of the American public. I actually heard someone the other day call Hillary a socialist...

forget what the polls say.. Hillary has had 20 years of having her character assasinated.. Bernie? Oh yeah.. I sure the tough, paristan bitter relection campaigns in f**king VERMONT toughened him up to the onslaught the right would bring down upon him.

He'd be crushed... sad but true...
