Thanks! I googled it now, and you’re right.

England out, and perhaps Uruguay soon too. Would've liked to see both go through to the next rounds, but it's good news for my beloved Liverpool. Getting our most important players back early before the new season could be important for a good start, especially considering our second and third league match (away to City and Spurs).

That’s one of the most amazing penalties I’ve ever seen!

^Yeah, but it looks like they didn’t need that goal anyway.

Best thing about this World Cup is that there is no standout squad, there are 6-7 teams that have equal chances to reach the finals, Argentina, Germany, France, Holland, even Belgium, Italy, Chile or Uruguay will not surprise if they reach the end and hosts Brazil do not look any stronger than the other teams, propably the most interesting football tournament ever.

Yep!  At the next World Cup it will be more than 50 years of hurt! Unhappy

Aside from their attacking and defensive failings England also fall short in the Dark Arts of the game. The Uruguayan captain should been sent off for two yellow card offences. If it was the other way round the Uruguayans would have swarmed round the ref brandishing imaginary cards and beseeching him to send the player off until he caved in and did so.

Oh well at least with England out, I can relax and enjoy the football as opposed to watching it with a knotted stomach and sense of impending doom.

I wonder if the first game against Italy in the 'Jungle' took more out of the English Team. I said before thetornament that that was a worry to me.  We're just not very good with hot weather.

Argentina is a paper tiger, as Iran is giving them quite a fight. Its almost funny to watch all the messy (sic) play by the Argies. Their stars ain't shining! Big Boo!

Feel pretty sorry for Iran.  Did incredibly well and Argentina didn't deserve that. Good goa from Messi though and in the end that's what it comes down to.

LM10 has certainly been more valuable so far than CR7. And often the teams that start pretty disappointingly get better later on in the tournament.

Seems like Italy might be suffering as well after Manaus as they looked incredibly sluggish against Costa Rica. I have a feeling Uruguay (now with added Suarez!) might edge them out to qualify.

Iran looked really good in the second half and really did have a shot to win it. Then Messi stepped up to the plate.

Argentina must get well pretty fast, because people/reporters talking about Messi being a football legend and his national team being horrible in a number of tournaments does not look good in my book of legends.
