Believe it or not, there even is some good country music. But it is pretty hard to find. I once heard a country ensemble (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) with excellent wild fiddle that really went crazy from time to time. It is like Bavarian folklore music: The way it is presented in TV you can only go " yuk ", but if you have ever listened to the real thing you will learn to love its beauty.
You can bowdlerize and dilute any kind of music, and that's what has been done to excess with a lot of musical styles. This is not to be confused with the melting of two musical styles into something new, like it happened with jazz-rock or, a more recent example, klezmer jazz. Purists of either style will of course always speak of bowdlerization, but if done right something new and exciting will arise, as can be seen with these two examples. |

I can't stomach Rap at all. Possibly it's because I never really listen to lyrics but to the music, and as Rap's content seems to be based exclusively on the lyrics, I honestly feel my guts cramping up with embarrassment when I hear it. |

Rock n Roll for me. Most of it is that same damn chord sequence OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. Yeah, alright, it's music. But music for compositional idiots IMHO.
I don't see how anyone can despise Baroque though. You may not like it, but every music lover should appreciate it because it's pretty much the roots of it all. Without Baroque we'd be a few hundred years behind nowadays. |

Factory Pop, e.g. anything with Pete Waterman or Simon Cowell's names attached.

Yes.............. but R'N'R was designed to last no more than 150 seconds, and it was supposed to get you up and dancing, not staring at your navel as (in theory) prog might do. Besides how many prog musicians who didn't have classical training, had to learn their trade by mastering riffs, playing a band with 3 or 4 others learning their trade at the same time. I would suggest you have to go through the simpler rock'n'roll stage before you can get to a higher plane, to then have a choice to stop playing rock'n'roll..... or continue.

Pop, that is the genre that in the last to say 20 years has generated some of the most disgusting music ever faced the earth, Rap - no words (Not invented yet) can discribe my hatred towards this style. R & B - the same as before mentioned. turns my stomach upside down.

REAGUETON! or however it's named! It's the worst piece of crap South America has ever created!
From the list: Punk, most of Rap, most of Dance, Country, and crappy pop |

I don't know. There is everything within any genre that I despise. Even prog...
But the one that takes all my votes is REGUETON , crappiest mix of melody , harmony and rhythm ever created.
I am not too keen on blues and Rn R as well , all records sound the same

Country, Drone, Pop, and R&B are my least favorites.
R&B, Pop, and Country just don't do it for me. The songs just come off as boring to me. As for Drone, I really don't see how anyone can listen to this stuff for more than five minutes. I know that some shoegaze bands and some metal groups incorporate it but I'm talking about the pure minimalist stuff. I just don't go for it. |
