The first band I thought of. RIP Geoff Mann.
I am the ceiling you are the floor above me rising into real I am deceiving you are the honesty I pray that I could feel I am confusion you are the thought that heals clarity of vision I am delusions you are the target struck a shot of pure precision and how I love you I am delivered I am a baby born into your sacred peace I was a prisoner you were the key that opened locks for my release and Christ I love you Freedom's Ling is donkey borne A cross The bleeding palms on main-street Collecting nothing but the scorn Of those who cannot bear their eyes to meet Except in artificial light Who needs to star in such a cast? I leave collecting to the past To one last party I asked them all and One And when it was over I found that all but One had gone Did Jesus have a gravestone upon which to carve His name? When He came collecting the grave gave up its game Now no-one collects worthwhile living For it is a crop that grows from His seed of giving Diaries Drugs A glittering crystal ball Cathedrals Palaces Sweet sugar you can keep them all Heaven is not for sale ... |

Not a prog album, but I enjoy 'The Plan' by '(The) Osmonds;' A concept album about the Mormon faith they decided to make instead of going door-to-door, because they could reach more people this way. Supposedly (according to Wikipedia though I couldn't find evidence in the source) they were effective, either from this album or their fame overall, in bringing in new members to the church. To be more exact I'd say, "My God" and "Wind-Up" from Aqualung are not really critical to religion as such, as these two songs express believing in the existence of God, but they're critical to the religious practices of the established Church of England. - I think that is quite important to state.

Hi,
"Passion Play" (JT) ... I am not sure the title is empty at all ... but I'm wanting to revisit the lyrics, now. I'm not a great fan of folks spending their time talking about their God ... and in many cases it is downright ... not very good ... and I question a lot of the tone, and respect needed ... but then, most religions are known to be fake per their history anyway, and the translations and comments that are in the lyrics are so far and away from the stories, as to make the majority of these things ... really poor. I find it bizarre, that news that were "reported" more than 300 years later, and the really poor translations that have been made and used ... are what "we believe" in ... and it's not any better in other religions where the dogma is decided by the folks in charge ... and you have to accept it. The Vatican, for example, has everything needed in their catacombs to clean up the history and make the religion "pure" instead of some fantasy ideal ... but they won't even consider going there, and I think that one day that "edifice" of lies and bad translations is going to fall down ... hard!!!

Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

Genesis' "Supper's Ready", second verse: "Coming closer with our eyes, a distance falls around our bodies Out in the garden, the moon seems very brightSix saintly shrouded men move across the lawn slowly The seventh walks in front with a cross held high in hand" and the last verse: "There's an angel standing in the sun And he's crying with a loud voice"This is the supper of the mighty one" Lord of Lords, King of Kings Has returned to lead his children home To take them to the new Jerusalem" |

There's so many thankfully and I would mention IONA who create such heavenly music to their Lord.
Utopian Fields from Norway released two quality albums with Christian lyrics. Peter Gee from PENDRAGON, a known Christian has some solo albums. |
