A bunch of killer albums on here, but I'm going with Suspiria.

There is a whole bunch of 1977 albums that I prefer to all of these, but Circus’ Movin’ On is great and so is Heroes. I listened to the Goblin soundtrack today actually and it’s really complex as a soundtrack

^ It wouldn't be out of place with those, but that Gabriel I haven't listened to in full in many years, to be honest. I do own it on cassette. I tend to favour less known ones (despite adding Bowie, and Hammill I guess) since my tastes tend not to be very mainstream, and didn't think of it for the master list, unlike I Robot which was one of my early music loves and retains a very special place in my music journey and heart. It never became a particular favourite album of mine, though I liked it. Since I tend to favour electronic music of the time, there are some other ones that might seem surprising omissions for those who know my tastes really well. I'm more into Hammill solo and with band than Garbriel (although I do love Gabriel solo music, more than Genesis generally actually, so I should play that again). On any given day, my list would be somewhat different, although various of these would be consistent as favourites of mine (such as the Leprino that I voted for). By the way, I voted for a Gabriel album in another poll very recently, although my list would have been very different from that one. I tend to favour Krautrock, Canterbury Scene, RIO/Avant, kinds of JRF, Acid Folk, Berlin School electronic music, Zeuhl.... Often the more out there and less popular stuff.

^^ I'd love to see what those are, especially if they aren't on Cristi's list or mine (this is not my first 1977 list in my time here and every time it's rather different). I have many favourites not on this list, and some of those you mention I might know and others might become favourites of mine (I have discovered a lot of music through making such topics over the years). The more 1977 polls with unique options the better. :)

^^^ Pierrot Lunaire in particular is a very long term favourite of mine (from before I joined this site), but I guess I haven't mentioned it much in some years (I also love the folkier self-titled). Love Plat du Jour too, which I discovered through someone at the forum, and then evaluated for PA back in 2009. It stands out as one of my very favourite evaluations, not that I was in Prog team work for as many years as quite a few others at the forum.

I think I might have guessed. :D While I cover what I like and comes to mind, with some research to remember, and in this case I left off some I like more for a little more variety, and I chose not to duplicate anything on Cristi's list (my favourites on those were also National Health and Island's Pictures and went with Pictures), when I make polls I am thinking about certain people too. You were definitely in my thoughts as I made it. I discovered Anna Själv Tredje due to your wonderful review years ago, from which I knew I'd like it, and it was a fabulous find for me.

As for "Heroes:, it was the first of the Berlin trilogy I fell for, but isn't my favourite of them. The Bowie album that I have been obsessing over again is Blackstar (I so love that album). Also played Hunky Dory again recently, and am currently listening to a little album called The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. So much for tending to favour the less popular stuff (see above). ;)

Please do mention any others you like from 1977. Island’s Pictures would be in my list, and National Health, if I went with the 1977 date, had those not been in Cristi’s list. I have discovered so many great albums thanks to doing polls over the years, and I know we share many tastes in common. I’m sure there must be a huge number more interesting albums in 1977 or any year, that I don’t know than do. There are various others in my collection that you might know and like more than the ones in the list.

That is a good one.

Excellent stuff, love Marquee Moon and Low, and Animals (which I only left off cause it’s so popular as I don’t think it is on Cristi’s list). And should try those others again (especially the Iggy Pop). Wish I had listed Low, was thinking it was late 1976 erroneously. That is one of my very favourite Bowie albums. In PA or not, wish I’d thought of including Television. The video isn’t working for me, but I would like to hear it.
