^ I personally don't like it and such movies, at all. The movie concerns a controversial topic of Soviet collectivisation and thus it had a propaganda value. It is partly a propaganda movie as such.

^ Earth is a major classic of soviet cinema and absolutely not a taboo subject, since - indeed - it was along the party lines for the promotion of the kolkhoze, so collectivisation was all but a "controversial" topic at the time. And nakedness was not taboo there.

Voyeuristic movies existed from early cinema on, including sometimes nakedness. Erotic films and explicit porno were also made from the early 20th century on (but you won't find them on youtube).
