Experimental/Post rock Appreciation Threa

^^^ God is an Astronaut? It has a floating or spacey feeling to them which is I think their most noticeable characteristic of their sound. There are already 3 reviews of them here in the archives so you can stop by and read them when you have the time.

Those songs are pretty representative of their sound and all of them are really great so tell me what you think of them when you get to listen to this samples.

Good stuff. I really enjoy it. i kinda feel like I'm listening to mogwai, but with out the negative qualities that take away from my enjoying mogwai.

If you don't like imitators then be careful when walking in here. This genre is chuck full of them. It's a sad thing really, but there are still bands doing new things. Just like World's End Girlfriend, the band I recently reviewed. (shameless self promotion)

Thanks Jimbo. I see you already listened to Lis Er Stille. What did you think of them?

It's from Super Furry Animal's - Rings Around the World. Nothing spectacular though, but I like the album, their name and, of course, the cover.

I only have a weird taste thanks to my fellow Avant-friends at the RIO thread. It's good to explore different genres and RIO and Avant-prog are very well worth it. I still enjoy both genres a lot, but I don't have the same free time as before to dedicate it to RIO/Avant-prog since I'm in 2 totally different teams compared to RIO/avant-prog. Although as you can see by my bands at my sig AI still listen to a healthy dose of avant-prog bands and still keep discovering more.

But don't dismiss this genre so easily. There are still many great bands you still haven't discovered. Be sure to come here from time to time and read the post-rock reviews for some good recommendations.

Indeed. If this is truly a post-rock band then their heading in a right direction.

Lis Er Stille are very good; the agression is powerful, and they have some nice touches. I think they fall under post-rock.

No, I thought that song was pretty aggressive. Those were fairly distorted guitars. Not as much as Jakob, but it was still there.

Hi Chamberry! How was Domnisoara Pogany? (That's if you had the time to listen to the sample.)
