A pedant writes....actually, football was historically so called, because one played with a ball whilst on foot (ie, running or walking), as opposed to on horse....that's why rugby & AF & their variants are still called football, even though most of the play is by hand.....Geek

Portsmouth 4-0!

So, what do you guys think about Portsmouth's chances of oh, let's say, an European competition spot?

Man I was at the Fulham v Sheffield Utd game this weekend.

We play quite good football, but just can't get it done in the final third. I don't think we'll be getting too many points away from home this year :(

Yea. But there always will be teams in the middle with similar number of points. Then again, only 5 spots can be played for Europe and I think its safe that Chelsea, Man U, us and Liverpool will probably get at least one of those places. With the Spurs playing like sh*t as of late, I really find that 5 teams including West Ham, Portsmouth have a good chance to grab that spot.

Anyways, what a boring game that Italia played today, drawing with Lithuania! LOL

And the Dutch only getting a 1-0 win on Luxembourg, maybe Van Basten should change his tactics.

Yea. Maybe the loss of Arjen Robben on the wings and Van der Vaart in the midfield really benefited to that. Luckily I only heard of the game, but I also watched a bore of a game. Italy vs. Lithuania Sleepy

But it wasn't really that bad, I mean but I just didn't like how conservative they were playing against Lithuania...

You didn't watch the World Cup Final! LOL

IMO, they played really poorly offensively and sat back too much. Did not look like the Italian teams of the past, while I love watching the French every single time.
