Sorry Scott, I'll have to sit this one out!
I only own `Actual Fantasy Revisited' (which I do quite enjoy, even if it's the very definition of `prog-by-numbers'), but some of the others above I've heard don't do a lot for me. Not enough to actually go and buy the things from the samples I heard.
Yet I absolutely loved Lucassen's solo album `Lost in the New Real', was one of my favourites from last year! I hope he gets around to a follow-up to it.
But I do have `The Theory of Everything' waiting in a pile to go with an order at Syn-Phonic, so I'll get to hear that at some point shortly.

Still haven't heard the new one, but out of the others it's definitely Electric Castle. But my favorite remains the debut for some reason.

^^^ Yeah the debut is great. I purposefully missed out Human Equation as its too easy to choose being so popular.

I'm actually looking forward to hearing it! I just figured I'd simply buy it right from the start and see how I go! Will report back somewhere on the Archives when I do get to hear it!

Up until yesterday, I only owned 01011001, and it is just okay. But on one listen to The Theory of Everything, I love the album.

I think that Human Equation and Actual Fantasy are both 5-stars albums, but I have never found too much interest in the other Ayreon's albums. I love other Lucassen's projects like Ambeon, Star One and Guilt Machine, but the rest of the Ayreon's output has left me cold.
I haven't listened carefully to Theory of Everything yet.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Out of my, admittedly, brief encounters with Ayreon, it's the newest one that has clicked with me the most. I really dig the flutes and female vocals. It's still major cheese, but somehow it works.

It's between 01 and Theory.. Both are 5 stars albums IMO. I have to think about it seriously but since Theory is new, I play it 2 times per day minimum so maybe my vote will go for it.

I can easily vote for all the albums here, but I am gonna vote for 01011001, just because it doesn't have any votes.

Migrator 1 for me. Of course, Human Equation is easily the best Ayreon. I would rank them as follows:
- The Human Equation
- The Universal Migrator 1
- Into the Electric Castle
- 01011001
- The Theory of Everything
- The Universal Migrator 2

I'm a bit surprised "Universal Migrator 1" is winning here, I thought it wasn't so loved compared to the other albums (specially "The Human Equation"). I actually wasn't sure which I would vote for, because they are all nice but with some kind of weaker moments... though I was almost sure I wouldn't vote for Human Equation. However, I think I actually like Universal Migrator 1 best. Still, I first need to get the new album and give it a few spins to form an opinion about it. I hope it arrives to my city soon.

the electric castle out of these I rarely listen to Ayreon these days, but this album does it for me. One of the best from Ayreon.

The Theory Of Everything, just ahead of Into The Electric Castle, 01011001, Dream Sequencer, then Universal Migrator, but they're all top-notch! Human Equation would narrowly beat TTOE, not sure where The Source would sit yet, but it would not be pushing those at the very top.
Arjen is a genius - he's there with Mike Oldfield and Michael Holmes for me...

01011001 and Human Equation are the only 2 Ayreon albums I get into.
