This is a thread about what PA members want to become or achieve in the long term...
you could include
a) one real personal or career ambition
, and
b) a second one less or equally important
that just makes you feel good...

could be sth like this

...I would finally want to work as a chemical engineer Cry, and
...I would like to get familiar with more prog genres

(I am influenced by my job search, so bare with me...)

1.) Become a prog musician

2.) Be free of all obligation and responsibility

Hmm, cool question.

1) Be able to take care of and raise a good family

2) Open the most awesome record shop ever

Or maybe be ruler of the universe, but I'm fairly certain that's out of the question.

1.  To be a traveler in time and space.

2.  To have hot, young women join me in my TARDIS.

I always want what I cannot have.  Cry

Seriously, if I could choose two things I really want:

1.  To always be close to my girlfriend and make the 6000 miles between us disappear for good.

2.   To be a professional keyboardist/songwriter.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

When I originally thought of that, I said to myself, "Hmm, where could I be that I would be free of all responsibility...

Oh, I've got it!

...

Dead."

Carrier-wise:

To become a (relatively) successful composer and a great audio engineer.  When I say successful composer, I mean one who is able to write songs of which people may listen to or even like if I get lucky.  As long as I can always write music, I will be ok.  Money I can do without (to a certain degree).

Personal:

To continue to grow musically (what I listen to and what comes out of me).

My professional career is over, and I am not interested in it any longer. My only long-term goal is to marry the man I love Heart and move to the US to be with him for good. Nothing else really matters to me now.

My Dad started out as a chemical engineer.  He eventually moved on to other things in his career.  He laid the seeds (drafting equipment I played with [used] as a kid) that got me interested in architecture, which he almost went into.

I do interior offices mostly at a small firm (5).  Manage projects, CAD drafting, one man IT department.  Career wise, I'm actually settled in.  My only ambition is to keep the firm successful.  I'm number three at the company.

If I should live to see retirement, maybe focus more on making music.  For now, it's just for fun.  Another possibility is that my wife and I open a great restaurant in Hawaii when we retire, but I'm afraid that might not be attainable.  Doesn't matter, we'll live happily ever after.

I don't know... On a personal level I've got a well paid job that I enjoy, having worked for the same company for 24 years, it keeps us in the lifestyle we like (sure we'd like more, but we don't need more - though a lottery win would not go amissWink). I guess my only ambition is to see my daughter succeed in whatever she chooses to do in her life. After that, I think I'd like to be able to retire and move to the seaside, become an amateur beechcomber, fossil hunter, astronomer, luthier (I've got a great design for a 6-string electric dulcimer) and maybe own a shop that sells dreams.

On a feel-good level I've already written two web-novels, had several articles published in computing magazines, recorded 51 CDs of original music and created more paintings than I've got wall-space to them hang on. I haven't made a cent out of any of these because I'd feel guilty about ripping off people for something I enjoy doing (trans: they're all crapEmbarrassed). So I have no idea what to do next, but any (polite) suggestions are always welcome.
What?

Oh, hmm.....

1. Finally find out what exactly I want out of various areas of my life (career, relationships, etc.). It's one thing to know what you want and be able to work toward it, it's another thing to be lost looking for square one.

2. Become more physically fit.
