Topic: exciting Posted: March 03 2005 at 16:50 |
Danbo suggested a more positive thread, so as opposed to boring, we have the exciting bands.
Some of these bands excite me to life,
For those offended, because I didn't include their favourite band, see Boring Topic

King Crimson's various re-structuring has always kept things interesting. Each of the bands above that I have actually heard are exciting and a band worthy of paying a few bucks to watch perform.
Good thread Tux. You can set a poll to allow multiple votes, BTW.

Might as well have called this thread:
"Let's get Reed Lover on his high horse again"
Least it means you didnt include Rush in the "Boring" poll.

I've voted for YES
But Pink Floyd, Genesis, VDGG, King Crimson and mismentioned Jethro Tull are as exciting as Yes too!

PINK FLOYD are a lot of things, but exciting are not one of them. That's why they have Mr. Screen behind them

ELP were probably chiefly responsible for turning people against prog but Peter Gabriel might also have tipped the scales a bit in favour of the view "God,what a bunch of t**sers these prog bands are!" with the Slipperman costume. He couldn't even sing while wearing it because it was impossible for him to get a microphone anywhere near his mouth!

GENESIS
IMO the best, and most exciting progressive rock band of the 70's.

In terms of excitement, there is an obvious absent: Jethro Tull.

Unfortunately I`ve never seen them live but Iwould have to go with
Gentle Giant for most exciting musically although all the bands
mentioned have their moments.

I had to go for Gentle Giant
It is the only one from the bands mentioned that has ever excited me...
GG has a special place in my heart for that.
Cheers

Pure exitement? Maybe ELP, they certainly all have their moments form what I've heard. Oh except Dream Theatre, Dream Theatre just sucks.

All of the bands at one time or another provide or provided excitement. Not to mention a few hundred more.
Have to go with that bass pedal solo as the all time hight of excitement from Genesis Live.
