Topic: Star Trek Series? Posted: March 18 2006 at 22:34 |
Which is your favorite of all these series? I tried to include all of them, don't think I missed any. I can't Stand the Cartoon or Enterprise, but I bet theres some who love them, so I had to include them.
If you watch all the episodes in order, DS9 has to be my favorite.

I am more of a Star Wars fan than a Trekkie, but TNG was very good.
I also liked Voyager alot, the premise behind the show was pretty cool.

I've probably posted something like this before ...
I'm a major Trek fan ... seen every episode ever of DS9, Voyager and
Enterprise ... as well as all but a handful of TNG, and about half of
the original series ... over 600 I think plus all 10 movies ... the
only one I can't judge is the cartoon series (seen all of 5 mins when I
was younger ....
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is not just my favourite Trek series, it's
my favourite TV series of all time ... I get thrills thinking about
it's best moments even now ...
My order
1) DS9
2) TNG
3) Voyager
4) Original Series
5) Enterprise

I grew up on TNG, but now I find I prefer the flavor of the original series.

Television wise, I like the Next Generation. If we shift the poll to movies, it's the original easily. The first six movies were sci-fi brilliance. No Star Trek movies will ever duplicate the nostalgia of charcters like KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN, and Christopher Plummer/General Chang's quoting of Shakespeare. "Prick us do we not bleed, wrong us do we not revenge?" "To be or not to be" "Let's slip the dogs of war!"
Shatner, Nimoy, and Kelly also had a charisma in the movies that was unmatched by any character in any television series.
yeah, I'm quite a Trekkie.

The Next Generation is by far the greatest Trek incarnation! The original had its moments but it also had Kirk, who was a tool of epic proportions. If there wasn't an Enterpirse to blow up he could do nothing. I swear Spock and Bones ran that ship.

The Original Series is the only true Star Trek and there has never been
a better captain than Kirk. I'll fight anyone who says different.

I prefer the original-creaking scenery,wooden acting,men wearing corsets,the whole shebang!
A quick avatar check suggests at least one more vote for the risible cartoon series from a surprising source...

I used to think TNG, with DS9 by far my least favourite. I then clicked with DS9, and it became my favourite. What sets it apart is the continuity of the main story through all seven series. I know Voyager had a similar over riding theme, but each episode of that tended to be much more autonomous.
