    Posted: August 14 2024 at 01:51
This Was  originally intended to be a Jethro Tull tribute thread, but it's more fun to run a long overdue Top 7 albums thread instead. Jethro Tull's early albums still Stand Up to scrutiny over half a century later. With the modern-day Benefit of the internet, I've been diving deep (with the aid of an Aqualung) into Jethro Tull's extensive discography. I'd have to be Thick as a Brick not to know that the original Jethro Tull (1674-1741) was an English agriculturalist who pioneered the use of the seed drill, but that's Living in the Past. In the present day,  Ian Anderson and his merry band of minstrels have been sowing the seeds of Prog Folk now for coming up to sixty years with A Passion Play of timeless songs and classic albums to their eternal credit. At the age of 76, Ian Anderson isn't quite old enough to be a War Child, but he's the original Minstrel in the Gallery who's not Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll, But Too Young to DieSmile

Simply list your Top 7 Jethro Tull albums in order of preference below and then I'll assign the usual system of points to your listings:-

1st album - 12 points
2nd album - 8 points
3rd album - 6 points
4th album - 4 points
5th album - 3 points
6th album - 2 points
7th album - 1 point

Here's my Top 7 to get the poll underway:-

1. A Classic Case  (12 points)
2. Living with the Past (2002)  (8 points)
3. Living in the Past (1972)  (6 points)
4. Stand Up  (4 points)
5. Songs from the Wood  (3 points)
6. Thick as a Brick  (2 points)
7. Aqualung  (1 point)

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Not the biggest fan in truth. I could just have one on my list quite happily but I'll play because they are important for sure.
Aqualung
Stormwatch
Minstrel In The Gallery
A Passion Play
Songs From The Wood
Thick as a Brick
RÖKFLÖTE

I copied and pasted the last album to get it correct so it looks a bit odd (not intentional!).
