Just curious, because all of the songs seem eligible to be someone's favorite.  I'm going to say Green Genes.

Willie the Pimp is my favorite track off of it. It's the only Beefheart vocal I actually really like, and the riff and solo are awesome.

Peaches en Regalia for me, although I'm also kind of partial towards It Must Be a Camel.

The Gumbo Variations is one of the best jams of all time

Son Of Mr. Green Genes for me ... although you're right Syntharachnid ... I can see why most songs would be somebody's favourite ...
"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

I love them all but Green Genes has always been pretty special. I love the way Uncle Frank is all over his guitar! The vocals of Captain Beefheart in Willie the Pimp are something pretty special as well.

The whole album is amazing, but Willie The Pimp is probably the coolest, especially the very beginning. I just imagine a pimp stolling the streets each time. I wonder why?

1st and 3rd tracks are best, but the whole albums is GREAT!  I voted for the son.

It started to play in my head! I'll have to grab it to the car with me.

31th aug: I listened it yesterady, and it was as good as I remembered! I started listening to it when I got into prog music as 15 years old. It was available at my hometown's library, what a great title to invest the taxpayers money!

"Willie" and "Gumbo" are more basic jamsongs with lots of soloing, but I liked "Umbrela" and "Camel" too, which are more traditional bluesy jazzsongs. There's some quite critical rhytm arragements in the last song!

I love all of them, but 'It Must Be A Camel' is something of an overlooked gem, when it comes to the Hot Rats album.

Well, all the songs except for Little Umbrellas, apparently...

But I really like that one!  Some great work from Mr. Underwood.

Yeah, the violin riff really does paint a very concrete picture in your head, eh?  Genius!
