I think some of the best Prog songs has come from non prog bands.. or bands that typically are not identified as being progressive in general.
My top Six in no particular order... Funeral for a Friend - Elton John Band Long Time - Boston Beware of Darkness - George Harrison Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf Introduction - Chicago Love to Love You - UFO What are your picks? Edited by Skullhead - December 11 2014 at 04:16 |

Nice pick! And from a band, close to home, whose name I would never have associated with PA too. Edited by David64T - December 11 2014 at 05:44 |

I would like to know whether anyone here would regard this music as progressive rock: https://soundcloud.com/opus-grand
I'm having a tough time categorising it

This is my personal favorite, Suite Madame Blue by Styx (on PA as Prog-Related), including the "Prelude" that precedes it on the album.

Great combination there! SH knows a good painting when he sees one. I had that original painting as my "desktop" at work for several years, looked very nice too. Edited by David64T - December 11 2014 at 06:57 |

I remember liking this a lot at the time - atmospheric, lots of great guitar work and a song which had an intro that went for almost 3 minutes - it may not be prog but well...
