Have you heard the Oswald-Ruby Band yet?  Now that's a supergroup!

Hmmmmm.....

Steve Morse - guitar (can play anything well)

John McLaughlin - guitar (still the man)

Jimi Hendrix - guitar (because no list of guitar players is complete w/o him)

Keith Moon - drums (and insanity)

Dual Bass players: John Entwhistle & Jack Bruce

Peter Gabriel - vocals (the best)

Tony Banks - keys

Derek Sherinian - keys

The (vintage) Beach Boys - backup vocals

Simon Phillips & Mitch Mitchell - assorted percussion

The Memphis Horns

...and in case Moon gets too drunk to play, there's Chad Wackerman on standby...

  • Steven Wilson - Vocals and acoustic guitar
  • David Gilmour - Vocals and electric guitar

and thats it. i think their voices would work well together and other instruments will just clutter it.

I don't know, it's hard 'cause prog has the best musicians I guess. One idea could be classic songs played by prog legends. But my Supergroup would be:

Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa) on Drums

John Patitucci on Bass Guitar

Kevin Codfert (Adagio) on Keyboards

David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) on Acoustic Guitar and Backing Vocals

John Petrucci (Dream Theater) on Electric Guitar

Ian McDonald (King Crimson) & Steve Hogarth (Marillion) on Vocals

And Yes, Transatlantic can easily be considered a supergroup. One nay sayer

their answer.

Not bad at all...Wink The only thing is, they would never even get to choosing a name, as they would probably kill each other first! I can't even start to imagine Blackmore, Emerson, Wakeman and Lake in the same band...Confused

Ok my dream group would be

Mikael Akerfedlt (Vocals, Guitar)
Devin Townsend (more vocals and what ever else he does)
Mynard (Lead vocals) (I like multiple voices at once ok)
Herman Li (Guitar) (He's from DragonForce)
Derek Sherinian (Keyboards)
Dimmu Borgir Keyboard guy (More Keyboards, mainly like orchestral backing) (He is one awesome keyboard player type guy, whole orchestras at once, only reason for listening to that band)
Bass dude from Opeth (forget his name)
Drummer guy from Meshuggah (also forget his name)

Put them together and it would probably sound like crap but I'd still like to hear it.
Progressive: Intelligent music for intelligent people.
