I thought about making a poll like this once but forgot about it. Unless I did make it and forgot about having made it. Anyway, vote . . . or else.

If a movie was played in an art house and there was nobody there to see it, did the tree really fall in the forest?

I have only seen Videodrome, The Wicker Man, and Eraserhead.
Videodrome is my favorite, The Wicker Man is very good too and Eraserhead is horrible dross. |

I've only seen Eraserhead (which I enjoy) but don't feel like voting since I've only seen one of the choices.

Eraserhead is the only movie on this list I've seen so no vote. While it's a great movie, I should see some of the other movies off your list. Aguirre, Eyes Wide Shut, and Buffalo 66 are all movies I've wanted to see at some point.

I've actually owned Eyes Wide Shut for nearly two years now (got it with the Kubrick box set) but still haven't watched it.

I voted for Werner Herzog's (one of my favourite directors) Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes, a masterpiece that shows human degradation more profoundly than any other film I know. Klaus Kinski was a lunatic

No, but it certainly shows how impressive - close to terrifying - his acting was. And all that without any formal training. Edited by Zebedee - June 02 2010 at 06:47 |

I don't think any formal training would teach to act quite like him. |

You're probably right. Madness = genius in this case. |

I only just connected Vompatti's avatar with Stalker... it's been so long since I've watched it. I shall do so tonight.

Surprised no one voted for Suspiria yet. Love me some giallo. Hopefully will watch Lizard in a Woman's skin and Deep Red over the weekend. Eraserhead is probably my least favorite Lynch film...or maybe Twin Peaks. The television version of Twin Peaks is awesome though. I prefer Faces or A Woman Under the Influence to The Killing of A Chinese Bookie. I would probably go with Masculin Feminin or Contempt for my favorite Godard film. If you haven't already, check out Gasper Noe's Irreversible. Out of this list my favorite is Stalker. Still havent seen My Name is Ivan, the Mirror, or Nostalgia, but hopefully I will change that soon. Tarkovsky is probably my favorite director, but I haven't seem a few of these films so this is also a way for me to expand my list of stuff I need to see. I haven't seen any Kurosawa films yet, I really need to do something about that.

I've seen only one (!) of this list "Eyes Wide Shut" so I didn't really have a choice. But I've seen other movies from the directors of this list.
