Magma "Kohntarkosz" (1974) (this record made me want to get the Magma logo tattooed on my forehead! Luckily it went on my arm instead. Now all I have to do is fend off the Batman/ Religious cult questions...grrr) !
Vortex "Les Cyclones du Thanatos" (1979) (so dark and menacing you may unwittingly kill your cat and join The Church of Satan)
Pataphonie "Le Matin Blanc" (1978) (possibly the background music upon entering the Kingdom of Heaven. Not that they will let you in you kitten-slaying, devil whore. Reminds me of Achim Reichel, The Boredoms, and Tortoise for some reason. Avoid their 1st)
Archaia "Archaia" (1977) (slightly tipsy one night I paid 250 quid for this on vinyl. I couldn't afford to eat for a month, my ex divorced me, and my hair fell out. Sounds slightly different from the CD so it was well worth it)
Eider Stellaire "1st" (1980) (impossibly hard to find all-time-classic...I'm scared to even look at it let alone play it...Printed on thinner plastic than a K-Tel comp)
...et toi ?

I have also heard some Dün, Koenjihyakkei, Ruins, Shub-Niggurath and Weidorje, but my Zeuhl 5 are all Magma/Christian Vander
1. M.D.K. 2. K.A 3. Wurdah Ïtah (Christian Vander) 4. Köhntarkösz 5. Retrospektïw I-II (or 1001 Degrees/Attahk/Üdü Wüdü/Hhai/Kobaïa?? Damn, this is difficult!)

Pseu, Universal Totem Orchestra, Koenjihyakkei, Guapo, Eskaton it's all good stuff.

O yeah, I also have a Guapo album. But I think they're more RIO/Avant than Zeuhl...

I love the Weidorje album...!
It would make my Top 30...It's just one of those records that I never get the urge to play for some reason...
Hey Oliver...! A few years back I got offered their unreleased 2nd album on tape. I couldn't confirm if it was Weidorje or not...maybe just a rumour. Do you know anything about this...?

Dun's "Eros"...! What a classic...!
LP only available from their concerts back in the late '70s...!
Did any ProgArchives members witness Dun live...? !

I'm loving that list Syzygy...!
The Magma BBC recording should be made compulsory listening...! Unbelievable quality...!
Have you heard the band "Yog Sothoth" ? Similar to Shub Niggurath (as you might expect with the Lovecraft handle although pre-dating that band a few years. 'Tis a real shame that many little known classics are not getting re-released )
Thanks for your kind words but you are doing a great job Syzygy...!
...just for you...! The lovely Kyoko...!

no love for Eskaton or Bondage Fruit?
I agree that Eider Stellaire I album is mammoth! incredibly heavy stuff! Iwish they would give it a proper reissue, for I only have a burned CD straight from the vinyl.
that Archaia album is also a scorcher, very unique album that anyone into Zeuhl, Kraut, or analogue synthy/spacey music ought to check out,
The Magma BBC recording should be made compulsory listening...! Unbelievable quality...! <I wholeheartedly agree with this statement as well!

hey, do any of you cats have the Koenjihyakkei DVD? I love that sucker, I must have watched it about 50 times the first week I had it, sometimes I would just have it on in the background while did other things. I have it stored nicely right next to my beloved Magma - theuz hamtaahk trilogie DVD,

It's amazing how Yoshida-san manages to find such incredibly talented female musicians and singers who look like they've just come from a modelling assignment for the Japanese edition of Vogue. Clearly being a Zeuhl drummer makes you a bit of a babe magnet - now where did I leave me drumsticks.....

Eskaton Kommandkestra...!
Always lovin' a bit of Eskaton mithrandir...!
Has anyone got there hands on the unreleased "I Wish"...? ! I only have one track (on the "Enneade" Musea compilation) and what a scorcher it is...! (I had the cassette of "4 Visions" until my tape-deck chewed it and my ex-girlfriend 'accidentally' threw it in the trash...Some things are never meant to be...)
(sheepishly...), I'm sort of friends (well, acquaintances) with Natsuki and Kumiko of Bondage Fruit and I must have seen 'em live a dozen times. Great, great band who get better and better with every release...! I have never seen a better guitarist than Kido Natsuki...! Awesome technique in any genre or style.
Check the Japan 5 thread for more thoughts on the Fruit
Does anyone on the forum know Eider Stellaire (or is old friends with the band...! ) ? Man, they need a high quality re-issue...!

I've got the VanderTop 1976 album, which would have got a mention if the sound quality was better. Soleil D'Ork is on my list to pick up next time I swing by ReR, who have quite a few copies in stock.
