I would have to say that my favorite zeuhl groups are Happy Family, Bondage Fruit, Koenji Hyakkei, Ruins, and of course Magma. But man, you have to give respect to those japanese zeuhl bands, they rip it up.

A shabby quality video of a band that has always been of the highest:
'I am Damo Suzuki' The Fall. '85

I used to play bass in a band which supported The Fall once. I won't mention the promoter having to urgently find a pair of trousers for someone who may or may not have wet himself due to too much drink.

A true hero of mine has recently passed away, Mr Karlheinz Stockhausen. I've been playing his LP's back-to-back since I heard the news (and worrying/relaxing the cat in the bargain)

Listen to Turkish psych/prog; you won't regret: Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!)

That's one of the best videos on youtube. Jake has got to see that.
Anyway, I got lots of Zeuhl for xmas so my top 5 might change soon. Weidorje is definitely going to be in it.

I've been having dreams about making a nice 2 disc Grindcore Doom Metal Zeuhl Album over the last few months. I think Doom and Zeuhl could go hand in hand very nicely! Maybe add in some noise for good measure. within the next 5 years i'll make sure an album like that exists.
Marry Christmas zeuhlies !!
