Love that opening catchy Dreamline hook. Mystic Rhythms so mysterious and the breakdown strum riff using suspended chords is signature Rush. Natural Science with so many changes, interesting time signatures, and arpeggiated riffs. Then Stick It Out. That whole first few song sequence on Counterparts is … as Cousin Eddie would say … rally nice!

It's a pity that none of those highlighted songs made the Top 15. Smile

Surprised that Red Barchetta has not done better in this poll.

My Rush list can change at a moments notice......Do you want to see more lists or are we held to just one list?

So can mine. In fact, I meant to include "Middletown Dreams" in mine, but Rich already noted my elastic arithmetic.

The Hits

1 Freewill
2 Jacob's Ladder
3 Working Man
4 The Camera Eye
5 Red Barchetta
6 Xanadu
7 Earthshine

Had a lot of fun listening to Rush last night, stayed up way too late. I'm sure many of you could make multiple lists, themed lists etc. Lots of great material to draw on. The Analog Kid gets me because it makes me think of Neil, those lyrics. The side long Cygnus X-1 Book II Hemispheres took me back in time for a while. Playing that while driving around as a teen. And it's hard to leave off Limelight, Tom Sawyer and Natural Science.

Red Barchetta is another amazing song. Built around an A chord. The low end riff is really punchy. The “wind in my hair” section has a really great guitar part too which sounds musically like gears shifting. Working Man has one of the top ranked guitar solos of all time, but what I love about it is how the main anthemic riff plays off Geddy Lee’s vocals. And not many bands could work in lyrics like “ice cold beer” and have you rooting for the working man.

^ Apparently Working Man became an anthem for factory workers in Canada and the northern US states. And what an anthem. The lyrics and the powerful instrumental work just resonate with me. I am a working man, that's what I am.

2. 2112
3. Natural Science
4. Jacob's Ladder
5. Camera Eye

Ok I mostly went for the most proggy ones. I admit it.

Honorable mentions:

The trees
Subdivisions
The Necromancer

1. Different Strings
2. Book II: Hemispheres
3. 2112
4. The Garden
5. Middletown Dreams
6. Natural Science
7. La Villa Strangiato

But to be honest, my list changes all the time. And I really wish this was a top 10 list, as I would've loved to include just a few more tracks. So I'll add a few honorable mentions:

Xanadu
Kid Gloves
Afterimage
Manhattan Project
A Farewell to Kings
Jacob's Ladder
Take me down, to the underground
Won't you take me down, to the underground
Why oh why, there is no light
And if I can't sleep, can you hold my life

Different Strings!   Such a beautiful song. As is Entre Nous. Jacob’s Ladder is an underrated gem. That and early 70s KC make me think of Tool a bit. The punchy Fly By Night, Circumstances (love the arpeggiated riff just north of the 2 min mark), and the ever-evolving YYZ are also bubbling up in my mind today.

I noticed you haven't yet voted, so if you were to place  the 2112 album at the top of your list, that would bump it up to 5th place in the overall Top 7. Smile

Indeed. I just don't know exactly which 7 I would include (I have about 14 to choose from), nor in which order I would put them, except that I would put 2112 at the top. I would need to give them a new listen with ordering them in mind.
