I listened to Nightingale and there are a lot of similarities.
I'd second Redemption, but I've only heard them when they opened for Dream Theater.

You looking for something specifically like The Art of Navigating by the Stars or like older Sieges Even stuff? The older stuff is more technical, while The Art of Navigating by the Stars isn't even really metal.

Annon Vin "A New Gate" reminds me of them a little. More towards their earlier work with a decent vocalist. Still, it is not Sieges Even. They (SE) used to get lumped together with Watchtower and Mekong Delta a lot. Now they have that great aor sound.

I like the Tiles recommendation. I have never listened to them but I am listening to the song on the archives stream. May need to do some shopping.Cool

Their debut is very similar to Watchtower's Control & Resitance album, so check that one out if you haven't already.

In the Fullness of time is an album I heavily recommend by Redemption. For all fans of prog-metal.

Maybe some of Sylvan's music has a similar sound.  Also, Poverty's No Crime.  Probably many things on the Inside Out Music Label would be similar to Sieges Even.

Art of Navigating by the Stars doesn't represent the body of Sieges Even's work very well. It's a new sound that's more along the lines of adult contemporary. Their older stuff is generally more like technical metal.

one of my top-prog metal bands!
The Art... is probably their best, with a new modern lyrical approach
I can't find a band similar to their sound, as MM said, maybe Enchant are a bit closer,
but in my opinion not at the same quality level as Sieges Even
A Sense of Change is the closest in sound and a masterpiece
BJ's comment about their debut is absolutely true
and SolariS is right that they used to be more technical in older times

Any comments on their latest? Haven't heard of it

I didn't have the early tech albums but heard multiple songs from them and like them. I then bought Sense of Change and was surprised by the sound, but really enjoyed it.  When I finally decided to buy a second album it was Art of Navigating... and boy was I dissapointed. I found the music really went nowhere intersting and the lyrics were comical at best.

^ Check out Steps - their second album.

It's similar to ASOC but far more challenging both technically and musically (which saying quite a bit.) The vocalist on that one is not very good though, but the music is great.

^ I agree it's far more technical but IMHO is not that 'mature' as ASOC
vocals have not been that good in their first two albums
but Steps is a real progression follwing their debut

I just listened to Sophisticated and now I am listening to Steps.  Musically Steps is good but you are correct that the vocals are not very good.  Sophisticated was better than Steps.  I will probably listen to the new album Paramount for the first time next, if I don't listen to Art of Navigating first.  That was the first of theirs that I had heard and I enjoyed it enough to make me explore their back catalogue.

Indeed. Of their early albums, ASOC is definitely their most mature. It's also their best overall, IMO.

Steps was 100% different from their debut. A huge progression and remains as my 2nd favorite from themSmile

^ I would agree 100 % with you if TAONBTT was not released
I don't know, I think the fact that they made such a different album
got me by surprise. I find it so melodic with some of the usual
tech moments of Sieges Even. And the vocals this time are
absolutely amazing. Still need to check the new one...

Their newest is in the same style as AONBTS, and nearly as good. Very melodic and harmonic as usual, it shouldn't disappoint youSmile
