Topic: Shadow Gallery VS Seventh Wonder Posted: July 18 2012 at 00:27 |
These are two very similar prog metal bands that have amazing concept albums and a 25+ minutes epic! So which one is better? I don't know because I love the way Make Baker sang But also Tommy's!

Shadow Gallery, not a prog metal album can be compared with Carved in stone, absolute masterpice or Tyranny, but aswell Seventh Wonder has a couple of albums that worth to be investigated

Seventh Wonder by an awful lot, and that's after only hearing one album.

Shadow Gallery for me, just never "got" Seventh Wonder for some reason.

I'd easily take Seventh Wonder. They are more skilled, the singer has a more pleasant voice, and Seventh Wonder has this amazing way of building a very complex pattern of different instruments playing different time signatures and all the while the singer will be singing a simple melody that could almost be from a pop song - like he's in a different world from the rest of the band.

I like both bands, but chose Shadow Gallery. I just like them more.

As a fan of Shadow Gallery, it's easy to choose here. Although I have liked what I've heard from Seventh Wonder, SG is just a very special band that moves me in a special way. They have (had) my favourite singer (R.I.P Mike) and favourite lyrics together with some wonderful instrumentation composed by Cadden-James and Wehrkamp.. no wonder I've given all their albums from Carved in Stone to Room V 5 stars each.

Shadow Gallery is quite boring, especially their first two albums, and their last one, while Seventh Wonder is full of energy and memorable melodies.

I'd kind of agree, though I do find some of Shadow Gallery's stuff pretty entertaining. But for the most part, I hardly ever bring SG out to listen to, while SW's albums will most likely reach the point where they are unplayable from wear....
