Topic: Crack the Sky or Wavering Radiant Posted: October 01 2009 at 14:41 |
Here are a couple more fantastic albums that were released this year, one is very atmospheric/very melodic and the other a prog metal roller coaster ride! Which one do you prefer?

I got Wavering Radiant the other day, so I haven't listened too much yet, whereas I'm very familiar with Crack the Skye. Not vote from me.....

Went with Isis. They both have their moments, but in the end I though Wavering Radiant was superior. Not by much though.

Crack the Skye for me.Mastodon really progressed and steered their sound in a different direction for that album.
But Wavering Radiant is pretty awesome in it's own right.

Wavering Radient is an excellent album, but Crack the Skye is just stunning so as close as it is I'm giving it to Mastodon.

WR was a big step back for ISIS, CTS was a great leap forward for Mastodon (but I like all their albums)

Favorite album from both bands I think and both great. Guess I'll go with Mastodon.

i'm still hoping for Mastodon to return to Leviathan days, i'm less of a fan of this new approach even if it is interesting in parts. thus, even if WR is a step back in Isis's discography (which is only to say that it's not ITAOT) it's not a step away and so i'm giving it to them
