I got very sick from COVID (again) and am making a very slow recovery -- really messed up my lungs. Activities like this do rather pass the time. I was inspired to do make this poll due to Trevor's (essexboyinwales) recent topic My favourite 10 albums from the all-time top 100 (CLICK)
In this topic I went with 25 (no more than one per artist) from PA's top 100 as I could not do it with just ten, and even then I left out several albums I really wanted to include, like Jethro Tull's Aqualung and Museo Rosenbach's Zarathustra. The numbers, as one would probably guess, indicate chart position. In Trevor's topic he asked us to pick three, in this as there are two and a half times as many options, I would ask people to pick up to five (more if you really want to of course, just one vote per act please). So please try to vote for up to five and please comment on your selections. Thanks. Edited by Logan - December 04 2024 at 12:42 |

I voted for Genesis, Camel, Caravan, Pink Floyd and KC. I guess like this guy I knew in college who said he was a big prog fan you're not a Yes fan. ;)

Thanks, Carlin's the man. Now that's someone who tasted the sweat smell of success. The sweatier you get, the sweatier the success one might say. As for me trying to choose just five, there are 15 or more that I would really want to vote for, and might vote in a few days if some of my favourites of these favourites from the top 100 have no votes. I did not know how much I love from the top 100 and left many other faves off the list. Some would surely get my vote now... |

Too many great albums to make a choice here. Each one has a different mood, so it depends how I'm feeling at the moment, I would vote for many of them. Great list.

This is too difficult but I throw some votes anyway (albums with few votes are preferred, to help a bit with selecting):
Häxan, On Land and in the Sea, Rock Bottom, Hot Rats. I stop at four because even among those with few votes too many would want the next spot.

^ I considered voting yesterday with exactly the same top choices as Saperlipopette! -- King Crimson - Red, Van der Graaf Generator - Pawn Hearts, Pink Floyd - Meddle, Gong - Radio Gnome Invisible Vol. 3 - You, Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom -- but then I regretted not choosing some you mentioned as well as others. I very commonly do not vote in my own polls, which might seem a bit unfair. As my wife and many others intone, try to avoid asking of others to do that which you are not willing to do yourself. I do it in other people polls more, but then those are less likely to cover lots of my favourites of course.
That is interesting. Perhaps we could both be admitted to the Say No to Yes Club. Like the masons, they use "secret" gestures and signals to identify themselves and gains entrance to the gates of No. In this case it involves shaking your head from side to side. If anyone answers incorrectly by nodding their head up and down at the entrance to the No sanctuary, expect it all To Be Over soon. Excuse the silliness. I actually could have happily added Fragile, which is at number 10, but I had about 28 I cared more about at the time, which does not mean I don't love music on Fragile. And I like Relayer at 20, but have not listened to it in a long time. I'm not a fan of the beloved by many a Progster Close to the Edge. Edited by Logan - December 05 2024 at 10:45 |
