That "Dawn" album by Eloy isn't mine it's Jared's. I have no Eloy albums on my psychedelic list. Inside and Floating are on my krautrock list though.

Hawkwind. This was my introduction to the band, so it's a very special album for me.

Wow, what a toughie!

I've gone for Dawn, although the Hawkwind and PT are two of my faves of theirs.

Siddhartha just beats out Walrus.

I feel odd saying this but Hawkweed have yet to connect with me, despite me trying a few times ... definitely feel like the odd man out in this thread 😅

Thanks and I did like the idea of having the band you picked from late 70's Yugoslavia with Siddhartha from Turkey for some reason, just seems bad-ass.LOL
In the Igra Staklenih Perli liner notes it says "The band cultivated the music style of groups like Can and Pink Floyd, but also of Tangerine Dream and Holger Czukay."

When you talk about power trios this Finnish band needs to be mentioned. Each member is amazing but especially the late guitarist Petri Walli. This just grooves at times, a lot of fun.

I should have put Ocean in instead, it would have made the poll more interesting. I saw you gave Dawn 5 stars so I went with it.

Thankyou! For the two bands you mentioned. I'll get back to them.
Hawkwind is an odd one for me as I prefer their four straight studio albums from In Search Of Space to the one in the poll here over everything else by them including the live one.
Walrus are from Sweden not Norway as the site here says so the bio is also wrong when it says two Norwegian musicians got together... because there are no Norwegian musicians in this band! A couple f the guys would play on Necromonkey which of course is Mattias Olsson's baby and he's drumming here with Henrik Olsson which is why I thought the drums were double tracked. They sound great anyways. Why is the album so under the radar? Polar Kraut the band call this.
Siddhartha from Turkey will always be a sentimental favourite, owning their debut before they were on this site and raving about it was I.

Yeah, I like seeing those two in the same poll. When I started reading through the options I thought I might go with Siddhartha, but when seeing Igra... I knew for sure what my vote would be. After all, I love the influences listed in your post.

--------------------------------------

As for the TheGazzardian's Hawkwind comment, to be honest, I never much got into the band either and haven't really wanted to. I do like Space Ritual. I have only heard the best known classic albums.

As for Eloy, and I have read the comments and understand, Inside and Floating are the only two I have heard that ever excited me. Ocean was the first I heard and it was pretty meh to me actually.

Eloy are one of those bands where my 'favourite' can change from time to time, but if you go for any of that 3 album run... Dawn / Ocean/ Silent Cries, then you aren't going to go far wrong... Smile
