I'm back sooner than I was planning but it's the long weekend and I've been up to my ears in Psychedelia and want to share some great albums with you all. Six polls with seven in each. I'm not including Pink Floyd who would dominate but Porcupine Tree and Hawkwind may do that anyways on these... so be it.
Title of these polls comes from a Pond album who are from Australia and when I think of Australian Prog I think Psychedelic.
I'm a big fan of all of these and hopefully there are some space cadets out there like me.

When I started reading through the poll options, I thought that I'd vote for Algarnas Tradgard, but then Eye's Second Sight caught my nose and got my vote. Really nice retro psych on that album. Spaceman3's Prefect Prescription is an album that I got into quite recently (last summer maybe). Nice poll as always.

I thought you would vote Algarnas Tradgard that thing is a monster. The picture of the young long haired Swedes playing acoustic violins, cello and bongos on the back cover is misleading but a very cool shot outside somewhere. They use two different synths, guitars, drums and ethnic instruments and more. Powerful music!
I got into Spacemen3 back in the 00's and it just is a special album. I guess promoting drug use isn't popular but it was bold at the time.

I was very surprised to see two votes for Eye right away. Love this band and album along with their next one. Surprisingly powerful at times but they offer up some variety and spacey soundscapes too. From Ohio and I did think of Rush during some of the more in your face moments.
Happy Family day Thomas and Greg!

Hawkwind - In Search of Space - one of only two albums I know in the poll, and you can already guess which the other album is. Smile

And here come the votes for PT but well deserved as far as I'm concerned. I am fortunate enough to have this with a second disc "The Staircase Infinites" which compliments the main album perfectly. I feel they are one actually.

I'll take a crazy guess and say Porcupine Tree. Man my Psychedelic list is top heavy with Pink Floyd, Hawkwind and early Porcupine Tree

You're right. Apart from those three well-known bands you mentioned, I'm only familiar with Space Rock bands beginning with the letter "A", mainly because that's as far as I've got with my Space Rock blog so far. Tongue

If this band was from Germany we'd be hailing this as one of the best Krautrock albums out there.

It's the Hawkwind/ Porcupine Tree show!
Wilson mentions in the liner notes that the closer Fadeaway is his favourite. This is a hard choice for me to pick just one. I always liked Fadeaway but also Always Never and Burning Sky. Regardless this is one great album. I remember Wiison talking about Rainy Taxi from the EP The Staircase Infinites and saying it was influenced by the Krautrock he was listening to at the time.
