Read first: Includes non-prog acts.  My second Knebworth as a 16 year old - another great line up.
* Billed as Rockpile but essentially the same band that played on Dave Edmunds' album
** Todd Rundgren joined them for the encores
*** Zappa in record company disputes - not promoting a particular album (Studio Tan was released a few days later)

Peter Gabriel II is the only album I know in this poll, but any memories I have of hearing that album for the first time over a year ago have since Melted away into the background. Embarrassed

The first concert I ever went to was the Tubes in '77. It remains one of the most outrageous concerts I have ever been to. No album, not even a live one, can adequately capture that madness, but it still got my vote.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"
