You're right, it was only on High and Mighty's One Way or Another. I misremembered that he sang lead vocals on one song on both of the albums he appeared on, when he actually played Mellotron on one song on both of the albums.

Another case of bad memory. I remembered this live performance of Paradise/The Spell where Kerslake shared lead vocals, and since Hensley made a guest appearance but did not sing, I assumed that Byron and Kerslake shared vocals on the album recording but it was actually Byron and Hensley.

However, it is true that after Hensley left the band, Kerslake was the second singer in live performances.

I knew Kerslake wrote Firefly's Who Needs Me and Fallen Angel's Come Back to Me, but John Lawton was the lead singer on both. Interestingly, Wikipedia credits Kerslake as sharing lead vocals with Hensley on Firefly's title track, but other sources credit Hensley and Lawton instead.

Also, I forgot to include Mark Clarke, who co-wrote and shared lead vocals on The Wizard. I also forgot to include Trevor Bolder and Phil Lanzon, each of whom sang lead vocals on a couple of songs on later albums. Sigh... I'll have to be more careful next time.

I know very little of Uriah Heep, only "Wizards and Demons" and "The Magician's Birthday", and I really loved Byron's singing. However, even as little as I know of the band, and that I have heard none of their other singers (well, of course I have heard Wetton, but not in this band), I just saw the name of the poll and knew Byron would take it easily... just as Anderson was obviously going to win the one of Yes' singers.

Funny thing about Heep. I can enjoy many things (except Conquest) and any line up's original but once they do a Byron original the whole inferior cover band thing rears its annoying head.

The you find they nicked their whole vocal arrangement idea from covers band Vanilla Fudge...

FYI first 6 albums and the live album are the guts of Heep. After that... even the Byron albums start to get pallid.
