Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Metalheads are gonna CRY SELLOUT, but the funny things, prog is even more underground than metal! ![]() And Heritage is highly rated by people like us!

I disliked Heritage a lot, so I look to this with skepticism, but it does sound better on paper.

Super excited about this! Oh, and this is my first post... :)
Here's a nice snippet from Steven Wilson:

Perhaps it will be Opeth's first Blu-ray release, since the studio mixes in stereo and surround are 24/96. Below is a link to the first review/preview of the album from a listening session. There weren't any song titles or even an album title at the time of the write-up: http://www.metalinjection.net/reviews/first-impressions-of-the-new-untitled-opeth-album-a-track-by-track-review Enjoy! I'm really looking forward to this album. As it's been described, it's the Opeth album I've been waiting them to release, since I do like Metal and heavy music a lot, but don't like grunting at all.

There's one track, fittingly enough titled "Goblin", which he described as sounding much like a certain Italian band. That is something I am very curious to hear

-I don't like jazz in my metal -I don't like organ in anything but Deep Purple or VdGG -The songs meander with few hooks -It's just kinda bland throughout -I actually liked growls and heavy riffs, but apparently Opeth's not down with that anymore |

I want them to find a solid middle ground between Ghost Reveries and Heritage. Mmm |

^That is precisely how I've seen Pale Communion described.
Let's hope it's more like Ghost Reveries than Heritage. Heritage was decent, but I just feel they have lost a little too much of what I love about Opeth. I wasn't overkeen on the production either. Ghost Reveries on the other hand was amazing. |

1. So you don't like Animals as Leaders or Liquid Tension? ![]() 2. MELLOTRON, you neo-prog n00b! 3. NEO-PROG N00B! 4. and Neo-Prog isn't? ![]() 5. I do too, but Heritage has some brilliantly done melodic parts like that solo in Haxprocess or the part in Nepenthe with the drumming and the mellotron!

Yeah I'd be ok with this. Overall it depends on the songs, though. There's really not a lot separating Ghost reveries from Watershed except the quality of the songs, in my opinion. |

I fully agree with the 3 points in bold. I don't mind so much if they're not going back to the Death Metal thing again, but less widdly compositions would be an improvement. |

Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005
