After a lean but stunning career through five monumental post-folk/black metal albums, most notably 2002's The Mantle, Agalloch has disbanded. As announced on their Facebook page, John Haughm has parted ways with the rest of the band, to the effect that the band is, at least for the time being, done. He has, however, left open the possibility for an eventual reunion and/or other projects.

Sad news indeed. Who will be the next band to wear the Prog Folk Metal mantle? |

![]() Very sad to read. One of the best modern bands out there. Glad I saw them live and The Mantle will be one of my favorite records until death.
