You could suggest them for entry into PA, I don't think they've been suggested before. I checked and they're not in the Archives either.

This needs to be moved to suggestions, maybe someone can help with a biography.

Hmm....I listened to Opera Circus , lp cover pictured above .
I get a kind of  neo prog instrumental and also sampled Melancholy Zen also instrumental neo prog style. I guess the Larry Fast thing comes in with  the heavy use of synthesizer but it's far more prog rock than what Fast used to do- at least to my ears.
Some of the songs 'reminded me' of IQ at times as well as other neo prog bands but with no lyrics witihin a song structure.
I sampled a few other lps....he has 7 or 8 lps....they seem to be all instrumental except for the first which has some vocals.

One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

Hi,

Listened to 6 pieces, (maybe 7) from the album, and I did not dislike it, and did not turn it off .... until then. The only comment I have, and it is only on this album, is how similar all the pieces are and the design of the pieces is so much the same, I think. As such, it might suggest that once you hear one or two pieces, you have actually heard them all ... which I would not think is fair.

Good stuff, and I won't compare it to anyone, although it is my thought that this could use a bit more design into making these pieces more atmospheric, and less song oriented, though that is my choice and thought, not necessarily the reality.
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

The Larry Fast reference just kind of popped into my head as I was posting this .

As for sameness, yeah, maybe.  He throws so much into every piece, maybe they would be more differentiated if he did less in each song.

Biography copied directly from https://tollheitmusic.com/ (An amended plagiarism-free version of it could easily be written if the artist was approved for addition):

Tollheit is a progressive rock musical project created by composer, arranger, producer and keyboardist Robert Doucette. It's a showcase of his original compositions and arrangements along with other miscellaneous projects.

Tollheit (pronounced: toll-hight) is a German word for madness.

Robert Doucette got into music at the age of 13 when he went through his father's CD collection one day and found a copy of Return To Forever's "Romantic Warrior". From then on, he was inspired to be a musician.

He started playing the guitar at 15 and became obsessed with jazz/rock fusion and progressive rock, and also fell in love with composing and arranging as well. His first album demo "Eureka" was released in 2003 when he was just 18, and he went on to record 5 more album demos. At age 19, he made the decision to take on the piano as his main instrument and has remand predominantly a keyboard player to this day.

After graduating high school in 2004, Robert went to Arizona State Univerity (ASU) to study piano performance, composition, music theory and recording engineering.

Due to personal issues in 2012, Robert had to take a 7 year hiatus from music. In 2019 he decided to resume his music career and went to set up his studio in the bedroom of his apartment. He then went to work on his first official album "Paramount Dreams", which was actually his final album demo from 2011. It was remastered and included some earlier compositions from his early album demos.

"Paramount Dreams (Deluxe Remastered)" was released in 2020, followed by "Atlas Of Limbo" and "Checkmate" in 2021. "Tales From The Cauldron" in 2022, followed by "Opera Circus" and "Melancholy Zen" In 2023. Since Robert is not a vocalist, all of these albums were fully instrumental.

However in 2024, Robert decided to add vocals in his music because of advances in AI. In August 2024 Robert released his 7th studio album "Bloody Sunday", which was the first album to be released with AI vocals. He is currently working on new musical compositions with lyrics, and is optimistic about the future and is very excited about new musical projects ahead.

He has eight albums on Bandcamp, and Proggnosis has a page for him, so I guess he should at least be given a chance to be included here too. However, his use of AI generated vocals in the last two albums may be an issue for some. His music certainly sounds like prog to me though from a quick listen to the most recent album 'Guilty Pleasures'.

@ Greg (Logan) & Ian (Nogbad_The_Bad): I either of you spots this thread, maybe you could move it to Suggest New Bands and Artists as Cristi suggests? Embarrassed

Edit: Tollheit was added to Awesome prog by Uwe (Rivertree) about twelve months ago: https://awesomeprog.com/artists/22673. The last three albums are tagged as Symphonic Prog on that site, so a link to this topic has been posted in the Symphonic Team thread.
