Decline of the I for Experimental/Post-Metal

   Formed in 2006, Decline of the I is a post-black metal project based around French multi-instrumentalist Johannes Judicaël (aka Adrastis Korgan) and signed to Agonia Records. The band self-describe their style as a cross between Burzum, Neurosis and Code. Decline of the I's first three records - 2012's Inhibition, 2015's Rebellion and 2018's Escape - formed a conceptual trilogy based on French neurobiologist Henri Laborit's experiments on rats as an allegory for the social constraints imposed by modern capitalism, with 2021's Johannes beginning a new trilogy focused on the works of Danish philosopher and poet Søren Kierkegaard.
Judicaël, who handles vocals, keyboards, guitarwork and programming across his discography, was accompanied on his first two releases by vocalists Andralath Svartsinn (aka Sohr-Khasm; formerly of Vorkreist) and Georges Balafas (of Eibon and Drowning) along with the drummer known as Ludovic (aka Necrolith). The lineup would be whittled down to a trio by Escape with Svartsinn's departure, and the slate was wiped clean in 2019, with Judicaël recruiting the vocalists identified as SI and AD (who also provides bass), and Arkhon Infaustus drummer Sylvain Butet (aka Skvm).
