The Winchester Club biography
UK band THE WINCHESTER CLUB was originally set up as a side project band by drummer Tim Spear back in 1999. Joined by Jerry Deeney, Harry Armstrong and Jonathan Morgan the foursome performed at an all-day gig, later recording some the material from that day on their demo "Drown Little Joys in Work and Distress" (2000). Material for a possible official album was assembled too, but time to finalize these compositions and record them in a proper fashion was hard to come by as all musicians had existing band commitments to follow up.
After a serious of setbacks and new beginnings, The Winchester Club released their official debut album "Britannia Triumphant" in 2008. Due to a live event celebrating the album release bassist Elena Jane was added to the band, and following a succesful concert and a later succesful rerelease of the CD by a German label The Winchester Club now became a mote vital band entity in it's own right. 2011 saw the fivesome release their sophomore production "Negative Liberty", their most recent album as of 2013.

The Winchester Club's brand of post rock has been described as a blend of Mogwai and GYBE!
