Paul Roland biography
German based UK author, composer and musician Paul ROLAND was born back in 1959, and at the age of 20 he made his official debut as a recording artist with the 7 single Oscar Automobile. An extensive set of releases would follow from the first full length effort The Werewolf in London in 1980 until he decided to concentrate on his author career in 1997. Record deals with a variety of labels in Europe, Japan and USA made his musical exploits in those years widely available.

Guest appearances from artists like Robyn Hitchcock, Nick Saloman, Nick Nicely and Andy Ellison are regular features in Roland's varied musical universe. Acoustic guitar pieces, psych and folk inspired ventures and woodwind ensembles backing the proceedings are all more or less regular features of his musical world, alongside pieces of a more distinct rock and hard rock inspired nature. Crime, occultism and goth-inspired tales are frequent, which are also the main aspects of Roland's production as an author.

In 2002 Roland started reissuing his older material on CD, and not too long after new material started surfacing. The second phase of Roland as a recording artist has lead to three new studio efforts so far: Pavane, Re-Animator and Nevermore, issued in 2004, 2006 and 2008 respectively.
