3 stars Mirage is a rather unknown but now cult album released by Francesco Cabiati back in the 70's. This effort is a cinematic-confortable picture electronic trip for long synthezised srings, melodic flavored sequences. It features some proggy arrengements but the general atmopshere tends to be relaxed and mainstream if not goofy and kitschy (by moments). The self title track is an efficient spacey electronic improv but it could be perceived as a disappointed piece for fans of cerebral-kosmische eccentricities. Carovana reminds me weird lo-fi electronics for B grade horror movies (notably recordings from Fabio Frizzi, Nico Fidenco...). Chok is an ethereal, delicate electronic piece. Viagiattore nel tempo is a dynamic-moving minimal electronic soundscape within an atmosphere of mistery and secrecy. Mirage remains a pleasant and nice sci-fi evocative electronic fantasy but today it sounds pretty mellow and vaguely absorbing. Recommended for fans of less rock inspired italian progressive music (Roberto Cacciapaglia, Automat, Sangiuliano...).
