IS FOR LOVERS

Reminds me of Egg's debut. There's potential on here and the music is rather unique, yet there are so many terrible moments it averages out to 3/5. Like the bio says KEC is a mix of jazz and metal which results in a nice blend between distorted passages and pretty jazz parts. It goes together rather well and the vocalists mixture of clean and metal vocals is quite pleasing at times. The tracks also flow into one another nicely, forming a cohesive album.

Those are the positives, the negatives are the music is to fast almost always. I wish the whole thing was like 5 bpms slower, sometimes less is more. Also the vocalist sings alot, sometimes the vocals don't add anything as the notes their singing are hideous. Again, less is more. Finally the instrumental ideas are not explored sufficiently.

Overall a solid debut with good ideas and a base from which to improve on.
