2 stars WTF!!!..Just started to revisit my Hawkwind "CD" collection beginning with Space Ritual. It was my 1st HW experience and I am sure, no actually positive, that at the time it was the best thing that had ever happened to me, sonically speaking that is. Something happened since, and I guess that would be technology. My ears got used to higher quality recording.

I won't break it down song by song because I can't , since all I can hear is bass and drums with something else in the backround, (I'm not quite sure what), trying to come through. I can kind of get the drift of what they are trying to get across, but it's kind of like wearing a raincoat in the sunshine. There's something great out there but it just can't get through. Too bad. This truly could have been the greatest album ever.

Don't bother with this one. If you're interested in live Hawkwind I would start with Palace Springs. Actually, Live 79, The 1999 Party, Yule Ritual and Canterbury Fayre 2001 are essential if you 're going to be serious about it.
