4 stars So this one is especially for me!

I bought this when I was about 15 and it was my first truly Psychedelic/Progressive CD.

And with it one of my absolute favourites: Raw, psychedelic (in the truest sense of the word!), twirling heavy rock music. The only reason why I refuse giving it the fifth star mainly is the experience that this Album is not everyone's Cup of tea. This is pointed out by the previous reviewers, as they seem to dislike the album for the reasons I like it (or some of them). The overall sound is a more aggressive version of early Hawkwind-style Space Rock. In fact i even prefer this Album to most of Hawkwinds Records ('though I am a real Fan of the genre). There is doomy heavy riffing (Bad Attitude), hypnotic, swirling, twirling guitar and synth lines (The Elephant Song, my favourite) loads of effects (reverse, echoes etc). There is a little less time for rest than in the following releases, which may be a minus for some listeners. BUT I LOVE IT!

Especially for the fans of psychedelic Stoner/Doom or Hawkwindesque Space Rock. These genres are often plagued by plagiatism and mediocrity, while this record (and the whole band's work) really is kind of unique!
