5 stars Touching the border of madness, setting up a gloomy scenery, The Girl who was...Death is unlike anything you have ever heard. If you truly like music forget the formulas, forget the types, forget mainstream. This is the thing. The year now is 2004 yet this album remains original, up to date as its timeless melodies struck your heart and soul. Not something to 'digest' in a short while, it is something to be discovered step by step, get in deeper and deeper as time goes by. You'll be somewhat mesmerized, somewhat hypnotised and drawn to these amazing layers of sound the more you listen to them. If you like dark and moody ambience, with a hint of the earlier sounds of heavy metal and it's amazing guitar riffs this is it. The riffs remind me of early album 'Killers' by Iron Maiden, the Choirs somewhat remind me of Therion...the rest has been said above.

If I had to put it in a category, as has been done in the earlier reviews, instead of Prog Rock i'd classify it as progressive metal, classical influenced .

Hope this review can be of help to you!
