Well this is my 666th post on the site, so here's a poll for Iron Maiden's popular and very influential album from 1982, The Number of the Beast. What's your favorite track? Mine is "Hallowed Be Thy Name", followed closely by 4 or 5 others.

This poll probably belongs in proto-prog or other music, but I couldn't create a poll there.

Congrats on 666 posts! And this close to Halloween too! Headbanger
I also had to go with Hallowed.

Been a long time since I listened to Maiden.  Gangland is probably still my favourite here

Since All-Hallows-Eve is rapidly approaching, I vote for Hallowed Be Thy Name. Actually, I would have voted for it anytime of the year.

This should probably be on the General music forum.

TNOTB is actually my favourite Maiden album, partly because it was the first metal album I ever bought, and I guess it was my introduction to rock/metal and eventually prog rock.

It's the only Maiden album where I like every track. Favourite would be either The Prisoner or 22 Acacia Avenue.

I guess I'll vote for the continuing saga of Charlotte the Harlot..

I'll go with Children of the Damned.

What a great record this is.

Hallowed Be Thy Name, easily. Not just my favourite song on NOTB, but my favourite Maiden song, period.

Love all of them.

I'll go with Acacia Avenue this time.

Yes, Hallowed Be Thy Name is probably the best track, but for the album versions, I really prefer Acacia.

I'm afraid I've only heard this album on it's cover version by Dream Theater... however, I go with Hallowed be thy name, which I really loved.

i like live version of Hallowed, but i couldn't decide between Run to the Hills or the title track, but i chose the latter out of the fact that its the first iron maiden song i ever heard

`Number of the Beast' is one my least favourite Maiden albums (still good though!), but I have to agree with Scott here, this track always makes me smile and it's really snappy and kicks butt!

"MARAUDING!"

"PILLAGING!"

^^^Thumbs Up

I know it by heart

I'm actually a bit nostalgic about `Invaders', Scott! Probably almost 20 years ago I guy I worked at the time with lent me that album, and even though back then I couldn't stand it (I came to love Maiden much later on), I still vividly recall hearing `Invaders', so that technically was my first every IM song! Always takes me back to that job, when it's not making me thinking of raiding villages, etc!

Kinda surprised I'm the first to vote for this, but The Prisoner has always been my favorite off this album. A metal song based on a cult groovy 60s show is just too cool not to dig. I always liked how the tune starts out at moderate pace before gearing up for the verses.

^ The Prisoner is a great tune, but I will go with Children of the Damned, very powerful

A very rare selection.
