Hello everyone, here's some news on the new solo album that I'm recording.

The work is progressing great and I'd say it's time to reveal the musicians who are participating in the project with great passion and enthusiasm.
We started with the drums, and not one but three musicians have been involved for this instrument; Saverio Malaspina (perpetually on the border between jazz and rock, in force in the indie band Meganoidi), Paolo Tixi (coming from proggers Il Tempio Delle Clessidre) and Enzo Zirilli (internationally renowned jazz musician with a great number of famous collaborations).
When we have finished the "percussive" recordings we completed the rhythmic section with electric bass, fretless and double bass of Riccardo Barbera (versatile instrumentalist who happily ranges between jazz, rock, classical, folk and much more).
On the rhythmic section then are intervened the keyboards of Emanuele Tarasconi (keyboard-wizard of the Unreal City, young Italian prog band, revelation of the year with their first album "La crudeltà di Aprile") than with electric + acoustic piano, Hammond organ, Mellotron and Minimoog has added the right spices that can't miss in a prog album.
But we had also another keyboard-man! Infact we realized that in a piece we needed a more jazzy touch, so we turned to Alberto Tafuri (famous italian musician, producer, arranger and much more) that it turned out great admirer of prog and that was happy to get on board and give us a hand.
On this refined and powerful musical base has spread its magical horns (alto and soprano sax + flute) Gian Marco "Pantera" Pietrasanta. Mythical figure of the Genovese scene, specializing in jazz, funk and folk.

This is what has been done so far but the work are certainly not finished. The next two weeks we'll complete the recordings with the sparkling guitars of Laura Marsano (already in force in la Maschera Di Cera) and the violin of Fabio Biale. To this we'll add a few small cameo by two of my long time collaborators: Luca Scherani (Hostsonaten, la Coscienza Di Zeno) and Agostino Macor (Finisterre, Maschera Di Cera), respectively on vibraphone and theremin.
In all this great work I have to thank especially a person who is directing, arranging, reviewing, playing (additional keyboards, strings and trombone) and pulling out all his talent to record and mix it all up: Rossano "Rox" Villa, owner of Hilary studio, where the works are taking place.
What is left? My vocals and the precious backing vocals by Simona Angioloni (Aries). Then the mix, where we'll have to finally build the "proper" album, and the mastering.
If things go as they should in the end of September we will have the master in our hands.

In the coming weeks will be done a photo shoot in Milan and maybe one of these shots will serve as a cover; we'll see. Then we will think about the videoclip, to coordinate with the press offices and create the right expectation for the release of the album which will take place January 15, 2014. The disc will contain seven pieces, one of long duration and the others almost all over the seven minutes. There is a great deal of symphonic prog, jazz, a bit of electronics, winding and indecipherable melodies, light and darkness and A LOT of heart and passion on my part and all the musicians involved.
Title? Do not know yet but I'll think well in the coming weeks. AMS / BTF will publish it and are not excluded special editions and various surprises.

I think that's all for now, if you feel like on my YouTube channel you can enjoy some clips on the various recordings:
