June 9, 2013 ... in Osaka, Japan, the rainy season begins these days and it was a bit wet and hot ... also in Nakatsu Vi-Code, where http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4699" rel="nofollow - DJAMRA , http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6854" rel="nofollow - ZONK MONK , and Taku YABUKI UNIT (Taku, active in Tokyo, has already been quite renowned as an ex-keyboardist of http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=1218" rel="nofollow - KOENJIHYAKKEI ). We had ALREADY absorbed in such an amazing atmosphere, actually!
http://s1208.photobucket.com/user/Keishiro_Maki/media/ZM090613_3_zps603df1dc.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Ai ONUMA (keyboards, pedal bass)
At first, our super twin-female-keyboard-based Neo-Prog combo http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6854" rel="nofollow - ZONK MONK appeared on stage, with fascinating mystic beauty via two gorgeous (but aggressive) keyboardists.
They started playing with a brilliant track "Flow Of Time", that rang our bells via Kegoi's powerful drumming and twin beautiful keyboard-created drama.
The following track was http://www.progarchives.com/mp3.asp?id=5528" rel="nofollow - "U.T. - A Hole In Danger" ... an exhaustive mixture of pop / danceable sections and horrifying heavy depth via metallic keyboard sounds. Very addictive as well.
And funny / funky MCs ... their talk did not mesh with each other (although they'd tried their best ... I launched "hey, all the best!" without intention lol).
But their play did never crash at all, of course. The third "Air", a traditional song for them, reminded us something safe and sound, as if we had left ourselves into the green air, created mainly by Ai's fingers.
As a matter of fact, Shoko played perfectly "an octave lower", regardless of her "broken" keyboard (three keys were completely broken maybe in transit). Let me say, give Shoko a big hand yeah!
Thank you for reading my live performance review for http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6854" rel="nofollow - ZONK MONK !
http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=4699" rel="nofollow - DJAMRA came out upon the stage, after http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=6854" rel="nofollow - ZONK MONK 's fascinating gig. Yes today was "keyboardist day", and Takehiko FUKUDA (keyboards) in disguise with silver hair (what a hoot).
http://s1208.photobucket.com/user/Keishiro_Maki/media/DJ090613_3_zpsd566f446.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Takehiko FUKUDA (keyboards) ... he was the hero (heroine?) tonight!
The first is their masterpiece "Kamihitoe" ... heavy groove around them as well!
Their newest one "Kihihi", a instrumental track that represents a mad yellow baboon attacks a group of flamingos, reminded us brutal scenes like the end of a flamingo life ... with Masaharu's lazy MC (called as "matchlock gun talk, not machine gun talk" by Masaharu lol).
http://s1208.photobucket.com/user/Keishiro_Maki/media/DJ090613_11_zpscdd409d1.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Very 'azy, very 'unny ... ugh
http://s1208.photobucket.com/user/Keishiro_Maki/media/DJ090613_14_zpsb4669a26.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Sayaka KAWADA (trumpet) was another heroine also tonight (my luv )!
http://s1208.photobucket.com/user/Keishiro_Maki/media/DJ090613_20_zps6ec640d2.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"> Masaharu NAKAKITA (bass) ... his play was superb, despite of his matchlock gun talk (lol).
Shinji (KITAMURA; alto saxophone)'s drastic shout was quite cool in "The Cave".
