Once. "We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

How about being killed alive ??? Once you're dead, you're already dead - you can't be killed twice

You know, after a few lifes, you get used to death. The sole problem is to find the good method to remember your past lifes.

Back when I worked undercover for Interpol, I stepped on a somewhat uncomfortable landmine during a brief stint with the Portuguese miming police force. The thing that finished me off though, was an overdose of the Macarena song 4 weeks later in Madrid. Fun times.

Every day, millions of our cells die and are replaced by new ones. At what point can we say that this bag of bones typing this right now is not the same "me" that voted in polls last Thursday? Who am us anyway?

I believe it's something like 7 years it takes for the body to fully replace all of it's cells. In many ways we aren't who we use to be.

We are like members of the Animal Kingdom, we are mortal, we live, and then we die, and that's it.
I could be wrong, but that has always been my belief.

Du-uh. Everybody knows (but you, folks) that when you lose joy in your life, you are dead; that includes falling asleep. If you experience joy in your sleep, you've found another life.

Lucas's post reminded me of a time my friend and I were jumping off a bridge into a small lake. It was on my friend's uncle's private property (he was rich), he had a small private lake in his yard. Anyway, this uncle had a big dog who was nice, but very protective, and when he saw us jumping off the bridge, he would run and try to stop us. Meaning, he would tear us to shreds. So we would try to time our jumps while the dog wasn't looking. One time we weren't paying attention, and the dog was just about to get us, so I jumped quickly without noticing that there was a bunch of rocks right underneath me. I remember thinking I was either going to die, or I was going to be crippled for life. Luckily, I managed to contort my body in such a way that I landed in the water without hitting the rocks. I must have done a cartoon thing where I ran in midair or something. Whew.

^ ... Must have been quite a thrill.
Steve's post reminds me of the time when I was 5-6 y.o., hopping up-n-down like a jack. Wasn't looking behind me, and that's how I hurt my head. Needed some stitches. Not sure if the fall-n-hit was fatal, as it was only 10 steps down to the door of a boutique.
