For those who like to review using all caps, please read and take note of this little except from online netiquette.quote Writing in ALL CAPS IS LIKE SHOUTING!When you write in
all capital letters, this looks (and maybe sounds) to the recipient as if
you were shouting. Keep your CAPS writing to the required minimum. Trust me,
avoid using the caps lock key on your keyboard, or suffer the wrath of the
annoyed recipient! If you send me a message that is all in caps you can be
100% sure it's going right into my trash without being read. end quote My opinion
is that if a reviewer can't master the keyboard, how the hell could
they write intellegent, worthwhile reviews. They don't get read on my
screen.

I read somewhere that it's a lot harder to read all caps than lower case. there was a statistic like you read lower case words (or normal upper and lower case mix) 50% faster than all caps. so, not only are caps annoying, but they are terribly inefficient. btw, I dont think this should be in the prog music lounge.... ------------- http://www.myspace.com/altaic" rel="nofollow - http://www.myspace.com/altaic ALTAIC "Oceans Down You'll Lie" coming soon |

or you can always be classy and write your sentences in different fonts. Now I'm classy because I write in Times. Now it looks like I'm using a typewriter becuse I'm using Courier New. Now I'm using Verdana, the font that no one uses because it is so similar to Ariel. I'm normal again because I'm using Ariel. When I read posts in Spanish writtem all in caps I understand, because most people don't want to use the accent simply because they don't know how to do it, and words in capital don't need to use accent. It's so great this ignorance that in Perú all Judicial and Notary papers are written in caps to avoid the embarrasment of not knowing where to place the fu**ing accent like in Iván, dólar or even in harder words lilke esdrújula. It simply annoys me, but I understand the reasons. But in English there's absolutely no reason. Iván -------------

seems a little extreme. so some people can't use a keyboard, that doesn't mean to say they don't have anything valid or intelligent to say. perhaps they spend more time reading or listening to music than at a keyboard. ------------- "...misty halos made visible by the spectral illumination of moonshine." |
