Long thread for this here: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=89150" rel="nofollow - http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=89150 All info will be found there - we just need to get it on the site now, 'cos it's been out a fair while. Whole album is on bandcamp now, so guys...please listen, add your comments and, though I know it's not going to be easy, let's decide which sub this belongs in. http://kompendium.bandcamp.com/album/beneath-the-waves" rel="nofollow - http://kompendium.bandcamp.com/album/beneath-the-waves Edit: Only three tracks are actually live so far at bandcamp. There are some vids though in the other post which should be enough to get an eval done, and quite a few of us have bought the allbum anyway - let's hope they 'switch the other bandcamp tracks on' soon.

The Symph Team has had a listen but it's not a fit for their sub. Will ask Crossover to check it out.

Yes, if Symph don't see it as a fit then I feel that Crossover or Eclectic are the only other options really. Prog-Folk was suggested by someone in the other thread though - a tough act to assign indeed!

sounded like Xover to me a while back...

Having heard it for the first time the other day, my initial impression is Xover.
As an aside, this is an all volunteer site and some of the teams are a bit overworked. Patience, grasshopper.
------------- I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

| Fully understood and appreciated Chester. I am not trying to rush anyone into completing an evaluation - my concern was that this is a major prog project, that has been out almost a month now, and no team seemed to be on the case. That has now been addressed: http://progfreak.com/Kompendium-155046.html?path=pa/recent" rel="nofollow - http://progfreak.com/Kompendium-155046.html?path=pa/recent and we already have our first 'yes' vote! Thanks for the prompt action Scott.

It's not looking good at all. Scott added the band and voted 'yes', but now we have a 'no' vote which has cancelled it out completely (an absolute 'no' vote, would you believe...not even 'move' to another sub... ).Marty doesn't seem to have been very active of late, so I'm not sure where this leaves us now...Even if Olav votes 'yes', it still needs another 'yes' from somewhere to carry the project through. Symphonic don't want this, it's definitely not Neo, it's not really Eclectic either...and I can't see it being easily accepted by Prog Folk. No other sub comes anywhere close...but surely these guys aren't going to be rejected...are they???

I am here, not dead (yet), don't worry. I am maybe like a zombie, I may seem dead, but I always return. At the moment, I am having problems with most of the songs, will try to fix that.
In general, my internet connection availability has been greatly reduced and I am swamped by work. But the situation is getting better, I am certainly on my way up, OK guys ? Fear not, Marty is here.
As of your concerns about voting, yam yam, that is a problem. Long story short - we need new member.

[/QUOTEGreat to hear from you Marty , and to know you are on the way up. I was a little concerned that you didn't seem to be around much these days, and relieved to know that all is well. I'm sure that there will be a long queue of existing collabs wanting to join Crossover team, and the problem will be choosing the right guy from a long list of volunteers, but if it came to a last resort, and nobody qualified wanted the job, then I would be very willing to step in. My knowledge of some of the more 'extreme' prog subs is very limited indeed, but Crossover I am pretty comfortable with. I would certainly vote 'yes' for Kompendium as my very first priority!

LOL! I wouldn't go as far as to say it was a wish...A last resort for sure, if all the options for recruiting a new team member from the CZ were to draw a blank! I would have thought this role would attract plenty of interest from the 4-star rated prog reviewers amongst us tbf though. I myself have never written a single review for the site in over 18 months here (too busy hanging around in the 'Suggest News Bands' forum, I guess, to actually sit down somewhere quiet and write anything constructive about any one particular album!)...I'd be very surprised if admins gave this role to someone from back down in the senior member ranks...but stranger things have happened at sea!

So it has come to the usual result, if anyone willing to do biography (a fan perhaps), we would be glad for it.
If not, we will add the artist in time, but still, biography written by someone knowing the actual sound by heart (more or less objectively written though) is always better than those not so in know.
So feel free to go for it guys.

And here's an interview with Rob, by Alison Henderson of DPRP, giving us a great insight to the making of 'Beneath The Waves': http://www.dprp.net/wp/interviews/?page_id=4081" rel="nofollow - http://www.dprp.net/wp/interviews/?page_id=4081
