What kind of footwear to you guys wear on a common, daily basis? This can be for anything - casual, sports, business, etc. Feel free to post pictures of course. I'm surprised there wasn't a previous thread on shoes, so here it is.
Just got a sweet pair of these Madrid model Macbeth's. Really comfortable, perfect fit and they look great. Not a bad price as well - $ 79.99 Canadian. I get a new pair of shoes every single year, and I previously used to always purchase Vans or Converse, but this a great find!

I usually wear my shoes for five or more years. I currently cut grass in a pair of Nikes that are over ten years old!
I have a pair of New Balance (great tennis shoes and very comfortable), some brown dress shoes, the black dress shoes I got married in, and flip flops.
Safe to say I don't really do shoes.
Oh, I have a pair of these:
And I have a brown pair of Puma knockoffs which are now ratty and uncomfortable.

Most of the shoes I own now are slip-ons. I walk funny, and when I wear shoes with laces, they come untied in a matter of seconds. So I made a conscious decision not to buy any more shoes with laces, so I don't have to re-tie them 50 times a day. I even have laceless Doc Martens.
I don't do flip-flops or man-sandals. I just don't.

My apologies Rob. Nice shoes by the way! The ones that you posted are quite similar to a pair of dress shoes I have. I don't wear them too often; only to weddings, very rarely, church and formal events.

I have a found a solution to your problem:
Crocs in assorted colours. Do it man, DO IT. Vans make some really nice slip ons. I have an old, black pair of New Eras that still fit me, usually worn to cut grass.

Wear whatever. I used to wear generic looking sneakers (nothing to flashy or silly) and generally liked dark colors. Few years I repped a pair of chucks I wore till there was nothing left and lately I actually like vans. Feel fine and look normal!

I'm never, never wearing tennis shoes or any kind of sport shoes, except if I'm running or hiking. Okay, I have a pair of Converse but I'm rarely wearing them these days.
In summer days I'm wearing sandals, or simply going barefoot. In all other seasons I'm wearing (brushed or faded) leather ankle shoes (much in Dean's style), or some pretending-to-be riding boots. I never ever had Dr. Martens, they're just too for aggressive/military for me. Many people tried to persuade me (because of the quality) and I really tried: I entered the shop, and got out after 60 seconds. That's just not me.
Actually, I'm quite picky about shoes. I dislike formal, fancy evening shoes. I dislike moccasins or anything related to yachts/sailing. I hate anything that remotely resembles golf shoes. I'm occasionally wearing espadrilles (since I'm training Tai Chi).

As for my footwear, it depends. If I stay at home, barefoot; if I have to get out, some casual sneakers.

Yup - sports shoes are for sports, as are track suits and football shirts, baseball caps and all those other sports-wear items that people wear to go tot the shopping mall. However, I did once own a pair of Merrell hiking sandals even though I never hike anywhere.
I've been wearing that style of ankle boot since my motor-cycling days - don't like full riding boots, those protected my ankles a bit perhaps, more psycological than physical I suspect - fortunately in 150,000+ miles of bike riding I never needed to find out. I do own a pair of Doc's but only use them at rock festivals (I certainly can't drive a car wearing them) - they are amazingly comfortable and keep your feet dry, which is what you need when standing in a muddy field for three days (though I take Wellies too for when it gets really bad). I have a pair of New Rocks somewhere - those were just too uncomfortable to wear for any length of time.
I bought myself a pair of Birkenstocks recently, but after trying to break them in for the past few months I've come to the conclusion that German's just have very "odd" feet that are nothing like mine - I've been reduced to attacking the cork sole with an Xacto knife and sandpaper to make them even remotely wearable.

My last pair of shoes were Keen and they have lasted for years they are great.
Nothing to laugh about - real men wear sandals. I often use them on my feet.
I have a nice pair of leather sandals myself. Hey, we get hot summers up here in the Great White North as well! Today's high was 37 Degrees Celsius, I believe. I only really where Sandals though when it's scorching, or if I'm at the beach, which is rarely.

This is what I'm wearing now, and wear to work every day. VERY comfy, and appropriate for professional attire:
1 year later -- liked em so much I found a brand new pair of the same model, same size (14! not a common sight), at the same store. Lucked out, mang.
