Hey everyone, just thought I'd introduce my band to ya'll; we're called Jeopardize, and we're based in St. Louis, Missouri. Our style is a mix of crossover prog, alternative, art rock, and blues/blues rock; most of our cover tunes are classic rock and such, but our original songs incorporate myriads of different influences, from Rush to Stevie Ray Vaughan to Paulo Nutini.
We don't have any official releases yet, as we're quite new, but we've uploaded some videos to youtube. You can check out our channel http://www.youtube.com/user/thebandjeopardize" rel="nofollow - here .
This is a video that was uploaded on a different channel; it was our first one, so the quality isn't as quite as good, but I thought I'd draw attention to it here as it might be missed just going to the channel (yes, the band name is wrong in the title):
We submitted this video to our local library's battle of the bands (yes, the library has a battle of the bands). Anyone can vote, so please give us a hand and vote http://www.slcl.org/teens/battle-of-the-bands/rules" rel="nofollow - here .
You can also view our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jeopardize/252446924855593" rel="nofollow - this link . Please like/friend us!
Thanks to whoever's here. We could use your support!

^ Cool play, love it. Plenty of room for improvement of your play technique (sorry I cannot play instruments though ).

What areas could use improvement? We're always looking to better ourselves.

Believe me, we'd like to, but we don't have the equipment and none of us are exactly rolling in cash at the moment. Ben, our bass player, has a little recording device called a jamhub, but it's not working properly, so we have to wait for it to get fixed, which may not happen for a while. We don't really have a plan for recording yet, but at some point we'll have to record a demo of some sort. When we do, I'll see if we can't post it on youtube so ya'll can watch.

^ Plenty of free recording programs online. Would just need an interface, a few preamps and good mic's to do demo'ing.

I'm the singer/guitar player, the one on the right who, to the dismay of my bandmates, wore a tie-dye shirt while we were recording the video.

Very cool late 60s / early 70s hard rock / heavy metal style. Could use a bit of cleaning up, especially in the guitar solo. Good luck with the BotB! (Voted btw ).

Thanks for the support/criticism, guys.
We've got an update: Jeopardize has finished in the top five of St. Louis County Library's Battle of the Bands.
We'll be performing for the top spot on Saturday, July 16, at 6:30 pm at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters. Anyone who lives in the St. Louis area is welcome to drop by and listen.
In celebration, I'll go ahead and post another vid; we'll be playing this at the battle of the bands, along with the first song I posted and two others.

Good news everyone: the BoB was yesterday, and Jeopardize finished in second place, winning $150. We got some really good feedback and had a great time performing and listening to the other bands. Congrats to the first place winners, http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Perfect-Disaster/115141451894346#!/pages/A-Perfect-Disaster/115141451894346?sk=app_2405167945" rel="nofollow - A Perfect Disaster , and to all the other bands that competed. I'll post the video of the performance as soon as we get it up on youtube.

Alright, we finally uploaded our Battle of the Bands performance to Youtube. It ended up on our bass player's channel instead of the band channel by mistake, but that's of no consequence. Here are the videos of the four songs we performed:
Surrender (Cheap Trick Cover):
Agenda:
Remind Me:
Death By Inches:
As usual, comments and/or criticism are appreciated . Enjoy!

Jeopardize will be playing a show on November 3, from 6-8 pm, at http://www.skymusiclounge.com/" rel="nofollow - Sky Music Lounge in Ballwin, MO (St. Louis area). Y'all are more than welcome to come watch us, if you happen to live around St. Louis or, by a convenient coincidence, to be in the area at the time.
We'll be playing things similar to the material in the above videos, except with more covers (mostly classic rock, some blues and alternative stuff) and more original material that is slightly more quirky and proggy than the songs I've already posted. A local band called Paint the Earth will be playing after us, so you can also stick around for that if you want, although minors have to be out of the venue by 8.

Only 15 minutes away! I might be able to go. It depends on our schedule and if I can convince my parents to drive me.

Just a couple days until Jeopardize's show on Saturday! Just a heads-up for anyone who wanted to go; the time has been changed to 6:30-8:30. You can still show up at 6 if you really want to, but you will have to wait around for a half an hour before we get on stage.

Oh, by the way, we've gotten around to uploading at least one video of the Skybar show to youtube; the sound quality isn't great, so you can't always hear everything clearly, but overall it captures the main thrust of the sound.
That was our Stevie Ray Vaughan cover; I'll try to get a couple original songs uploaded pretty soon.

Well, it's been a long time since I've used this thread, but seeing that it's a rather (relatively) momentous occasion: My band, JEOPARDIZE, will be recording our first album this summer. Although we do not yet have a release date planned, we hope to finish recording before the end of the summer (when I go off to college 3 hours away) and hopefully get the album mixed and mastered soon afterwards, for a release before the year is out. We will make the album (working title: DEATH BY INCHES) available for purchase online in digital form, and perhaps make some physical copies available for special order by request.
All 8 songs for the album have been written and are ready to be recorded. The music is an eclectic mix of blues, prog, classic rock, alt rock, jazz, and practically everything else we've ever listened to. With material ranging from highway anthems to explorations of human psychology, simple pop songs to lengthy instrumental showcases, and straightforward rock and roll to groovy blues songs with math rock breakdowns, DEATH BY INCHES blurs the boundaries between different styles and should appeal to fans of both the experimental and the mainstream.
Rock on everybody.

I just got around to sampling a bit from your new album yesterday, btw. "The Jazziest Jazz that Ever Jazzed" is probably the best thing I've heard you write so far (although I don't think I ever listened to all of the previous album, shame on me). I'm going to make it a priority to give the whole thing a listen this week (as well as to finish my vocal part for the song I'm supposed to be working on vocals for you).

Also, if you haven't already, I suggest checking out my album Big Foot Business Casual, too. It's got a lot of songs similar in style to The Jazziest Jazz.
